License of former Microgaming poker room 5050 Poker suspended by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta. This room had been kicked out by Microgaming two weeks ago, and seems to struggle to pay its players.

Gosh, its one after another, this is becoming difficult, i don’t even know what to think about this. If, at first, it seemed like governments were trying to help online poker rooms users, giving them oficial security of the product they were using, now it seems they will close down everything, limiting the use for each country with new frontiers, and only later, after a world wide complex scheme of taxes is created, only then we will all be able to play together again.

Havent heard of that room before.
Its not times to play in every single site there is out there, after the recent events.
Better pick a well known site and stick there.
Dont leave too much money in such sites.

to be fair after full tilt went down- i doubt there are any really reliable poker rooms out there- even stars can go bust- why not? second biggest room did, why the biggest cannot? poker players must accept that there is this added risk, and to be very careful with higher deposits, imho

Exactly.

I'm never going to sign up to some no-name site especially if i have heard nothing about it.

Small rooms are getting gobbled up by big sites like PS, bwin and its other sites - any big site has its name in the public conscious through advertising.

Who said online poker were going to live forever? Another proof of its bad health. Who's next? It's just a question of time. Aww crap!

Pretty sick for those that had money there, especially if they are mobsters...

I think the safest for know is to play on larger platforms like pp, stars or pacific even if the win rate is lower, i mean lately security is a major problem.

I just wish a group of serious investors would get together and setup a site that could function without any discrepancies. Establish rules and regulations that meet the state or country's requirements to operate by paying the agreed fees to be legitimate then make their customers (players) feel 100% comfortible by making sure all requirements are communicated thoroughly without reasons of doubt. There's money to be made by running a legitimate site without greed taking over and ruining it.

News to this one.
The company behind 5050Poker will be shut down for lack of funds. Players should not expect more than 15% of their balance to be paid back. Outsch. Evil

Too bad. I never heared of this site before and in addition I am very careful regarding at which room I play ore to be more precice whre to cash in. I prefer the big rooms for this (PS and Party or Bwin).
On smaller sites I don´t cash in, but try to build a roll from zero.

Wow that really sucks, 15% of the money you had online is pretty much insignificant...

Still if you compare to them to FTP i think in the end 15% is a bit better than zero lol
