Good day fellow mobsters and mobsterettes! I am thinking about trying to qualify online for the 2013 WSOP Main Event, and would like to know if anybody tried this year. Specifically, I would like to know what poker room you tried, how good you thought your chances were, and anything else about the experience you care to share. I am hoping to qualify by winning through three or four stages, get my seat, and then bring back the WSOP ME crown to Canada. Thank you for any input.

Thats one big goal you have there. But its and achievable one. I hope you can make it, and have someone to know to cheer up fo,r in the next event. So far in all my poker life no one that i know of took place in the main event.

Thought about sats PKR but they are bad, stage1 2 & 3 all 1 outof 5 go thru so perfect, but final stage 1 outof 20, crazy crazy crazy, not worth it imho.

it depends- this year maybe it was one roome, next year it may be the same, or different- if you want to go fro it seriously- you will have to check all the main rooms and see what is going to be on offer- maybe some new room pop up and spend heavily on marketing, offering an easier way to get to wsop me...maybe not- still you will ahev to browse them imho- good luck with your goal

I never tried to use an poker platform to register there but i can tell you that i remember that also party poker was always offering it to it's members...
Since i never was interested i do not know how hard is to take it but i presume it's pretty difficult

Unless you get really lucky its going to be hard qualifying in those tournaments in a row. And if they are not rebuys (which you are willing to pay) in order to spice it up a notch to get a decent stack to reach your goal it will be hard. No matter how good of a player you are one hand can ruin the whole outcome is a tourney series like this

Thank you for your feedback so far guys. I know that it is a long road to qualify online for this event, at this point I was just wondering if anybody had seen one site offering a path that was maybe a little easier than the others. I think pochui is right, and that I need to do my other preparations first and next year scan all of the different poker rooms and focus in on one or two. Whatever experiences you have in trying to qualify for this or other large live tournaments is appreciated.

What a tough challenge you have set for yourself....good luck though but think you will need it. Take a look at PartyPoker...they are advertsing WSOP at the moment.

If low buy ins sattelites are good for many people, for experienced players it's a minus in my opinion.
I am leaning towards buying in not at the first step (which is typically like a freeroll) but at the second or maybe third step.

I find that in life it is important to challenge yourself, and through effort and learning you grow. I am mulling over a series of steps to achieve before trying in 2013 to qualify for the ME, and if I do go ahead with this challenge I will share them with the BRM community and open it up for suggestions and commentary.

You have some at party poker for free to start off and then 2$sub qualifier if i'm not mistaken.. and then the other stages start to grow in buy in.
The freeroll is kinda easy .. since you have one everyday might go wrong sometimes due to the fact that it's free and alot of ppl/donkeys going all in all the time or uber agressive but it's for sure very doable .. its 3500 players (half or something is away) and from the other half only 25% or something is really trying .. most of them just losing at the beggining all in.
Anyways that's not the hard part and after a few tries ur gonna get it .. btw 10 first players go to sub qualifier.. the problem is .. most of those 2$ sub qualifiers are rebuy .. and when i played the first one i thought ..oh no problem ill just try to play tight and get enough chips to work out without having to rebuy because that's the point of trying to qualify freeroling but i was wrong.. most of the guys there seemed to have a pretty decent bankroll coz they were playing kinda reckless and insta rebuying .. seemed to be to inflate the prizes and to kill the competition in a way.
After that stage it gets into more of the standard qualifier with bigger buy ins = better players i guess and more fun.
Anyways all and all i think its very possible but if there's a chance it's possible .. a nice challenge aswell and it'ss free =)

Not sure about best site to qualify - perhaps a site with less traffic would be ideal = less entrants
However, best of luck on the challenge for next year - it won't be easy and you'll more than likely suffer some infuriating setbacks at times but if you do it imagine the feeling.
Have you set aside a certain amount to do this with? Like $500 of satellites or bust kinda thing?

It's a GO! The two pieces I needed to fall into place before venturing on this quest happened this morning - so stoked. I'll update my blog later and detail the steps I am laying out before going for it.
