True but in the Ferguson example he survived quite a few flips and won several where he was going home if he lost with the worst hand and still stayed in - every good player knows this. In such a massive field you need toc atch cards or you won't win, simple as that.

Things will only enter on its normal way on thrusday, that will give time for players like Vanessa Selbst and Daniel Negreanu to re-think strategies. Sometimes i found myself thinking if pro players like this really ever think about changing their way of playing or if they just decide what to do when on the table, according to the cards and the position they have. Some moves can be done by the book, but one needs to have something that distinguish the way he plays to get more chips than the others. Do you believe there are still some tricks used by pros that are still not in the books o ris it the way they apply them that makes the difference?

Luongo finished his fifth level of play Tuesday night with 142,400 chips and was in 253rd place. Gaelle Baumann of France led with 505,800 chips. Luongo's brother, Fabio, stood in 130th place with 186,000 chips. Players began the tournament with 30,000 chips.
Luongo will resume play Thursday when the huge field is condensed into one group. Up until now, the field has been split into three groups — A, B and C.
On Tuesday, groups A and B — which at the beginning of the tournament totalled 2,044 players — were whittled down to fewer than 900 players.
Those survivors will join those left after Group C play on Wednesday.
Nearly 6,600 players are entered in the $10,000 buy-in tourney, which offers a prize pool of more than $62 million.
Luongo had his entry paid for by the B.C. Lottery Corp., which has him under contract to sponsor its Playnow.com gaming site..
