2012 WSOP Main Event: Skipped Day 5 due to religious beliefs...

Jarret Nash has been on everyone's lips in the past 2 days. Nash, an American poker player, had made it to Day 5 of the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event with about 500k chips and had a great chance of making a deep run. But when Day 5 started he was no where to be found. Slowly, he began to blind out, until he was out of chips in Level 22 and finished in 171st place for $44,665. maybe he just was afraid to lose his stack- thought for a minute and came to conclusion that he can stop playing and will still make it to the money- so he chose the safest way to get his money back and make some profit along the way. anyway this is one of the strangest things i have heard- he knew the situation before he entered the tourney, so why did he enter it for in the first place?

As has been said I respect his decision. His beliefs are more important to him than poker. I believe that I should only play poker on days ending in "Y". I also believe that I should not play before sun up and not whilst it is in sundown hours. Yes - that is the same thing.

My last belief is that Nash Jarret Or is Jarret Nash is as we say "CUCKOO" !!!!!

guys got his beliefs and fair play to him for sticking to them,he knew what was happening and let it happen, but he'll never win the wsop main event if he maintains his beliefs.

When entering a tourney like this, one should have the capability to put almost everything else aside, or else there won’t exist enough space for concentration. If someone from close family got sick and could be passing the final days alive, that would be understandable, now this? He knew that he had the chance, if things went well on the tourney, to get to this time in which he couldn’t play because of his religion. It would have been better not to go, although he doesn’t regret about this. It’s case to say “For God’s sake”.

If he's that religious surely gambling is not in his beliefs either - smells pretty fishy, usual double standards of a lot of religious people.

What a donk!

So did it cost him $12,000.00 to enter or $20,000.00 no matter he made a double up on his money although I think it's crazy to swing like this. Maybe there was some side bets he knew about and made more then what any of of think. We'll never know other then the story told!
