The 2012 WSOP Main Event attracted 6,598 players and became the fifth-largest Main Event in history. Nearly 2 weeks and more than half a million hands after that the $10,000 buy-in event kicked off, only 9 players remain with the chance of winning the gold coveted bracelet that comes along with the $8.5 million first prize! Here you can read about 4 of the finalists (ranked according to stack[...]   Read more » Meet The 2012 WSOP October Nine (Part 1)

Jesse Sylvia is undoubtly very well classified in the chip rank and that turns him into one of the favourites to win the $8.5M. Knowing that a single hand can decide the future of the game will always be in the mind of these other three, Andras Koroknai, Gregory Merson and Russel Thomas, that will have to show their skills to reach the highest possible in the prizes. I don’t believe that, at this point, there will be many atempts to bluff, but still, if there’s anyone who can do it write, he can risk to climb this way.

The Sylvia and Koroknai guys have plenty experience.

I hope the Hungarian takes it down for interests sake. Be good to see a foreigner win it all.

Impressive to see the age of these kids playing today. I can't believe their capabilities at the game. I don't care who takes it because I'm jealous of them all. It would be a dream to be sitting in their place just one time.

i would doubt that it's their capabilities that helped them get to the final table- especially considering that there were far more accomplished players than those october nine...the biggest factor in any single mtt with big number of entrants is luck imho, since single tourney is very short time frame...

Absolutely right !! look how many finalist WSOP 2010, 2011 make final table at WSOP 2012 ?
I think just one system describe who had best skill : L E A G U E , similar leaderboard but with limited MTT .
For example : every player just permitted play 20 MTT every month.

Oh pochui, you understand so little of it that i can almost feel sorry for you. Lithuanian amamteur poker must be the same as playing darts, you just throw the chips to the middle of the table to see if you win the hand. You have to remembre that this game is played at a 10 sit max table, and only those participate in each hand. Then, some are going home and others come to the table with more or less chips. Being able to pass through a lot of difficulties like this requires skill, patience, knowledge of the game, not just “let’s see what beats me this time”…
