As the topic says, SkyPoker is NOT a site that I would recommend. I've registered my account about 4 days ago and I've been in contact with their customer support team and tried to get my account activated.
The problem is that they need to verify my age so I've emailed them a picture of my personal ID card. After that they ALSO wanted a copy of both the front and back of my bank card. They said I could blank out a few numbers for my security, so I did. Then they said I had blanked out everything, which I hadn't, so I sent a new picture and only blanked out 4 numbers and my 3 digit security number. And while I did so, I told them that I registered my account with an E-Card since I can't pay with my card online otherwise. They told me that they have customers registering with E-Cards that they have in their possession so they only need to connect that to my card.
I thought that was a bit strange since an E-Card is a virtual bank card, not a physical one meaning that you can't really own one if you know how I mean?
Anyhow, I was a bit frustrated about this so I wrote a not really all that nice message which they have decided that they're not going to respond to at all. I haven't heard anything what so ever from them for over 24 hours.
Here I will show you the ENTIRE conversation without taking anything out. See what you guys think. Did I overreact or not?

Thank you for sending us your ID. To complete the verification process of your account we also require a copy of the front and back of your bank card. You can blank out the middle 8 digits and security code on the card if your wish.

ME: Well, just so you know, the numbers on the card I registered will not match the ones on my bank card since I used a e-card to register my account and that's the only way I can use my card to pay for things online. So if that's a problem, then this will not work. But I've sent the new pictures.

ME: So what? If I registered with an E-Card, I'm not gonna be allowed to play even AFTER I've given you ALL OF THOSE OTHER DETAILS!?!?!? I've given you a copy of my ID, I've given you a picture of my bank card, and you won't activate my account because I used an E-Card to register my account!?
And besides, an E-Card is a VIRTUAL BANK CARD that is connected to your normal bank card, that means that you CAN'T have an E-Card in your possession since it's VIRTUAL, not PHYSICAL!
With that being said, you haven't activated my account yet. HOW MUCH MORE AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE YOU!?!?!? I've given you almost everything I can that has to do with my identity! What the hell do you guys want from me?

SKYPOKER: -They have chosen to ignore this and I haven't heard anything from them for over 24 hours which shouldn't be the case since it's now a weekday and I think it's their responsibility to have customer support at least during the weekdays-

Hi Erik. I don't think you have overreacted. I myself have a account at Sky Poker, but as I live in the UK it may be easier for me to open a account with them. Saying that I did have to push them to open my account, it did take approx 48 hours for them to activate my account and that was with a normal bank card - no e-cards or anything.
I suggest you give it till Thursday and try to log in, if not successful, give up. At least you would have not lost anything on their site.

Many sites have different scenarios in verifying your data. Some times you can be unlucky if the rep you are talking to is useless.
If you play long enough online there is no chance talking with a rep that doesnt know what is going on.
But in your case, i would let it go. Cause i dont know if you get clearance after the verification and no more proof is needed there. Have you asked if you get cleared now if you will be able to cash out, without them asking you additional data?

It's possible for players to register abroad but they mainly focus on UK players.
I won't pursue this any further but it's still really annoying!!

At least they require the verification documents and data upfront, than most of the sites. You dont spend time and money, to get blocked when requesting a cash out.

pokerstars man, i never sway from it they have my 99% trust, other sites get around 50ish and some get like even less. pokerstars is doing it big and they are actually capable of being legit man i dont gotta worry about it being rigged or LNP on there

obviously they want photos of you naked pics of front and back required, you can cover "some details" too
no really this is really annoying situation, i had something similar with pkr some time ago, but in reality the only thing you can do is to give anything they ask and try to be polite, this surprisingly speeds up any actions...of course you should decide yourself how much personal details you should give away- bank account login details should be given away without any hesitation though

SkyPoker...while Sky is obviously big in UK for a variety of reasons, they dont have the best of tourneys or options and the graphics are pretty average. You'd think with their background they would be rather slick...though they do keep offering me free deposit bonuses!

Well, I for one would definitely NOT recommend it! I've had enough of them. Even if they didn't like what I wrote, they should at least have the decency to reply to it, but noooo... And just because of that, I don't really trust that site, it doesn't seem that serious if they just ignore a potential customer.

i wouldnt bother with sky poker. the tournies arent really worth it. bigger buy ins for not that much guaranteed. most of the time the buy ins exceed the guaranteed prize pool so its like a normal tourny. they dont give much away in the way of promo's either. that said tho the competition is pretty soft on the lower levels. i deposited £30 and withdrew £130 a few weeks after. wasnt too bad but i wouldnt recommend it. far better value for money tournies on i-poker.

Some E-Cards are physical, you have one of the financial companies that works with BRM that is actually offering discount for those who want to have their card during this month. But, about what matters, some rooms put too many trouble into the registering subjects. Inever had probems with poker rooms in these terms. After depositing the first time, things always get easier, even if after that you will cash out. But i don’t have na acount at Skypoker, i don’t know how would it go with me if i went there. Maybe when BRM has a good promo for me there i will take a look at it.

I have played on sky poker on and off for about 4 years now . The players are very easy to beat at low stakes - especially at weekends .The tourneys dont have that much value but you can make a good amount playing in the bounty hunters .most of the tables are 6 seaters so you have to lower your range slightly . I have deposited and withdrawn using 3 different cards and paypal and have never had to send them any verification of my age or who i am the only restrictions being you must withdraw the amount you deposited to the cards you used before you can withdraw the balance however you like .I would recccomend this site to anyone in the uk as payments are made within 24hrs hassle free They offer very little in freerolls - you have to use points earned to play in them ! I have always used the live chat for any problems and they seem ok ! dont know if you can access this if you cant log in !

wow! How can a poker site justify such different behaviours from a player to another? Sometimes we just don't have luck with the people we met in some services. Perhaps that's just what happened to erru9107...

Frankly, I don't really care what the reason is, it's just wrong in so many ways! I actually just started a chat to see what happens now that you gave me the information that they actually have one, which I hadn't heard anything about before this very moment..
I'll update you on what happens.
------------ so.. I just found out that the reason my picture ID isn't valid is becouse I ordered it through Swedbank and they have their logo on it so therefor they say it's not government issued... I frankly don't see the problem since I just went to the UK and that ID was valid EVERYWHERE!
------------ so... erm... they just completely ignored me on the live and chat and ended the session... see for yourselfs..
