My august so far.   0
I recently switched back to playing 9 mans on poker stars since that's the format I'm best at. Seriously freaking rattled with how bad I've been running lately. I've got the typical "can't win a flip blues". I know I should be thankful I'm up against idiots that snap-call an UTG shove with crap like 10-2, but so sick of watching them hit runner-runner or flop trips over and over. Aww crap!

Nothing pisses me off more than knowing I'm making good moves and outplaying people, but losing anyways. I even fired up SNG wiz to run through a bunch of my sessions, and I can honestly say I'm 100% making solid shoves and calls when it's short stacked.

For fun, here's my graph. Running under expectation pretty much the entire month.

At least you can play! I've went through that a few times, but right now I'm so upset with Carbon Poker and their whole verification process.
I haven't gotten to play this whole month other then freerolls because after 6 months of withdraws and deposits they have all my documentation, verification and account totally messed up to where I can't even deposit.
Sorry to go there off topic, but I know where your coming from when you sit patiently only playing good hands, can't hit on the flops and basically ouitplaying the opponent with no justice. It's enough to really make one tilt, but that just makeas it worse.
hang in there! It will change and you will capitalize.

downswings retri, yeah i have experience that also so when i saw the same player in the new table that calls my shove with bad hands...I will still do the same shove and flip it with him because i know that i will always be ahead pre-flop all the time which is good..i cant win all but definitely i will win more than him...

Hi Retribution. I know exactly how you feel. I have been playing a 990 player 0.02c sng this am. I played pretty well until about 200 players left and I had about 11500 chips. Not bad. next hand on the button I have AK o/s 2 players have shoved the player with biggest stack has 2550 chips so I call. The small blind shoves all-in, with about 5000 chips so I call. He has Q 2 o/s. He flops trip queens and hits a damm 2 on the river.

Next hand with about 6000 chips left I am dealt AK o/s again. One shove about 3000 chips so I shove all-in, Bleeding idiot to my left calls. He has 79 suited. He ends up getting a flush and I am out. He then has the nerve to post Haha on the chat box. What made it worse for me is that he was bleeding German, (2 world wars, and 1 world cup - Brits will know the saying). Damm this bad luck but I hope like you we will both get through it.

GL to all mobsters on and off the felt.

P.s Sorry if I upset any German mobsters, but I am pissed.

Yeah, I know which one your talking about. I played a few of those for fun. That's about all they really should be played for is fun. Totally a big bingo fest with horrible play.

I saw batter graphs from players that are really SNG wizards, you need to accept that these games have huge variance!

Also my advice would be to try out another poker platform(like 888 for example) it helps sometimes to have a different environment Smile

My August isn’t running very well too. I’m paying at Poker Heaven, i have this acount for a long time and i remembered to have good moments there, so i decided to give it a new try with a deposit but i am now at 50% of the amount i invested. I’m concentrated in low buy-in SnGs and i feel there’s still a huge range between those who know what they’re doing and those who just play for fun, although everyone’s spending $3.30 or $5.50 to sita t the tables where i’m at.

August here is mainly the month of the vacations and th most profitable in the
tourist industry.
Maybe its time to take a break too from the tables, and go somewhere
cloudy and rainy Smile since you hate the sun Smile

Retribution....I agree with your sentiments about making great calls and getting done by stupid shoves with nothing hands. HAppens all over the place....but then some will say that that is poker...making the wrong call at the right time, rather than the right call all the time.

the downswings are the one thing that make people think poker is rigged...

happened to me last week at stars...playing heads-up,different stakes diff opponents..

sometimes you lose, sometimes u win ...(exctualy i think i do pretty good in HU)

then suddenly ,,after playing about 1 hour, the moment i was warmed up i get the best of hands ..correct plays but lose all mayor hands..holding pocket 8's or better up to A-A

suddenly lost 10-12 games in a row 7$ and 15$...

Not diff to analyse, i played 10 diff. opponets on purpose, went all in 90% of the time dominating my opponents pre-flop..and lost all games...

then had only 1,5 $ bankroll left and 1 sng table where i was running ok..

1,5$ i lost also at HU-sng and that last sng 45 player 3.5$ buyy-inn

i lasted till last 5 players ,being chipleader with 10k+ chips..stilll managed to get sucked out on bubble while 4 getting paid...

when we were 5 handed the shortstack sitting to my right ,at a moment had 340 chips left to my 10k and still managed to survive and build a big stack again,,so the impossible happened there at that table...

as the bad run on that HU session,,,it was a terrible day for me...at stars.

Confused

------------
downswings,badbeats and donks...

all 3 should be forbidden in poker. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

i generally find sng ok ... mtts lol donks rule .... but just cant find the resolve to grind sng ... need the thrill of mtts ... so thats why i changed games ... no longer play nlh ... play nl 5 card stud and nl 2-7 single draw .... these i cash and run deep in far more than nlh ... and now i enjoy playing poker more.
nlh mtts have changed so much in the last few years mostly for the worse you can raise in nlh get reraised by next player and next player goes all in with 6,7 suited and you call with A,A next lad K,K and both loose lol lol .... so less nlh and more of other types.
