Posted by zeroster: $1000 for first, $900 for second and $800 for third.
Not that I would sneeze at any of those amounts, but it's still incredibly small for a $50K prizepool.. I'm used to very short fields, where I expect to collect 15-30% of the prize-pool if I bink it.. Quite often 20%+
That on the other hand is only 2% ! :O Obviously, I understand why with 17,000 or something paid places.. Still though, IMHO - If I played something like that - or even a $1 buyin, 50,000 runner event - I'd rather just have the top 500 or top 1000 paid and better prizes.

I have the same opinion about these huge freerolls at PS. Better to pay less places and get a better pay when you get in the money. Rather finish out off the money then get 1 dollar in a 50 K tourney.. total bs

$1 is better that $0 imho and considering that most of players who entered the tourney had no $ in their account $1 could be the start of their rosy poker career with no investment at all...i won this crappy $1 too, not excited too much, but it's still better than playing for two hours or so to bust out just outside of money imo

Both opinions above are understandable. But Jess, for you this is a waste of time and for others it is 2 hours of fun and additionaly they win $1. So some are really happy about this (BTW, I also won $1 in this, lol, but I didn´t paid attention to that tourney)

Yeah I totally get that, I started off playing online poker with play money at Full Tilt. And I had heaps of fun - just building a points balance.. Then I discovered freerolls and eventually I found No Deposit Bonuses.
However - it's been about 3 years now and I still enjoy the game, but I wouldn't play for hours just to win a $1 anymore.
But I do agree, for those still starting out, it's great - you get to play the game, practice, have fun AND have the chance to win a little bit of money with no risk.

Good game...represented UK and won a princely $3......only took an hour or so...big field crap hands but percevered to get some free dosh....... Pokerstars is good at these big free games all you need is loads of patience.
i played the freeroll...i just register and go to sleep and in the morning have a 2USD win...its a good freeroll and a good payout...looking forward on the next avatar freeroll...
