ill start off by saying im no pro player, but i can play well but highly susceptical to tilt. will not include my username for my own reason Blink . i am playing affiliated via ypc as already joined most on here prior to joining brmob Aww crap!

i got an initial stake of $20 pretty standard really

heres where it gets interesting lol

i managed to run it to 40 overnight using br managment and was running well so moved up in stakes.
started to notice some really fishy players, same players folded every time i had a hand but when i had rags and tried to steal they raised me through the roof and when i had a hand was usually on the button and one of them in the blinds. im not talking a couple of times, this was a consistant thing but was running well so kept me even.

i got sick of the crap and had 450 of the points but needed 2500 to cash out, not that that was my intention, but was spending most my spare time staring at the computer screen

put all my money on the 0.5/1 table 60 odd dollars, second hand qq, doubled straight up, so im sat there with 120 odd dollars, put 10 on the.10/.20 table (speed) and played my a game and managed to leave the table with 40

so im sat there looking at 150

played a few more games and got bored so i stuck 100 straight on the .5/1 table and got ak someone had raised the pot so i put another raise and they shoved, thought i would call coz im an adrenalin junkie like that but his kk held, so i went to the other tables and lost another 30 putting me down to just over $20

funny part, i shoved them with 2 shoddy cards, j4o op had aj hit the 4 on the turn. up to 40. shoved it again with jqs, op had ak, doubled again. shoved again 10 qo op had kk and hit a straight. completely unbeleivable.

my final thought, what is the possibility of ipoker having house players to take the money from affiliates, has anyone actually cleared their br points and withdrew. and is it a bit fishy that i went from riches, to rags, back to riches in the space of 10 hands?

the thing is i get so engrossed in playing poker it controls my life slightly, hence why i was on the verge of throwing it away.
is it worth my time trying to clear this br, ie. if i play my a game couple of hours a day so it doesnt get too much, use proper br management, or is ipoker going to smash it out of me one cent at a time as its known for.

have a good day all, any comment or advice welcome

It happens not only in ipoker but everywhere, win a little, lose a lot,get in tilt lose everything and re-deposit This how all sites work..About the players, maybe some are real and play many tables,so you can steal a small win,but in long term you end broke because of rake.Good luck

Also CHIPSKI I noticed that you mentioned do online poker sites use house players which I am sure are called shills or shrills, will check that its the right spelling later I am sure its one or the other but anyway back to using house players as u called them, the house player/shills are used on the casino poker tables to fill empty seats at the tables, that is the only advantage the house really wants, to keep the tables full at all times, also they are paid a nominal amount weekly to do this but they use there own money to bet with at the table, I say this because I know a guy quite well who did this in vegas for a couple of years and still lives only a few miles away from me now, I can get further confirmation on this if any one tells me different.

Now using house players/shills online wouldnt be cost effective in the normal tournaments, but especially on poker stars you will find many pro poker players there playing, although they are obviously contracted to stars I am again sure that they will be playing with there own cash and keep any winnings, again shills can be used online but if they are I am sure that they will be identified by the poker site if they do use them with a bounty on them also, again is it going to be cost effective to use em online giving the foot traffic it altready has on the site, loads to discuss there me thinks dont you.

Well.. don't see any problem with this.
What you are doing is trying to lose all your money and that's exactly what you did.
Your doing the typical move some people do, betting all your money and trying to hit and run and double up so you can move up another level. If you don't do it fast you get bored like you said and you shove with any 2 good cards.

You say poker has a big influence in your life so i believe you care or something.. and i'm not considering your poker talent .. but you are exposing yourself highly to variance.. and if you continue playing with that kind of behaviour you will always be doing what you did.. winning big and losing big. I mean.. a big suckout for you represents like what? 1/3 of your roll .. it's just insane. Best move you did there was on .2 having 12BI's which is incredible low. You can't afford to lose playing like that.. even if you play fish you will lose money. Your talking about .. putting all you rmoney on .5/1 and shoving with QQ praying to win..you really asking for advice? :O

So .. i think you know what you have to do .. and if you can't do it you should be betting on horses or investing your money in the lottery!

I understand why you intially gambled with the $20 free, but once you had run it up it was time to scale back down in terms of BI, or even call it a day once the tilt started to kick in.

A few things:

One time on PokerStars I ran up $25 to about $175, and made the decision to shortstack a NL600 table with my roll, playing very tight. A few hands in, sitting in position the CO raises to $18, and I reraise to about $45 with QQ, he calls and the flop comes down 3-3-7. He bets a moderate amount, I reraise he shoves and I call. He had 2-3o, the worst starting hand in NL poker. Later when I checked him out on PTR, his graph was a nosedive, I think he lost $7000 in two months. However on that day playing that hand, he wiped out my roll. Gambling with your roll will do that.

Bankroll management is key, you probably know that, learn to use it regardless. Sometimes when I am tired but still feel like playing I scale down in my BI, and my ratio of BR to BI will be past 100:1, and I try never to play less than 20:1, and usually end up never playing less than 40:1. When you have a big ratio of BI to BR you will play a smooth natural game, and not agonize over losing your roll to morons who call with any two cards, but instead welcome these donks because in the long run you know you will beat them. If I had practised proper bankroll management in the first years I played online my roll would be ridiculous by now, instead I wasted it by taking shots at moving up fast. Live and learn.

Tilt management seems to be as big a problem for you as it is for me. Learn to recognize the signs and realize when it is time to quit or just play very low BI. I track my results in a very simple way in MS excel, and a few weeks ago I added in a column where before the beginning of the session I will rate how good I feel to play poker on a scale of 1-10. 10 is I am rested, there are no distractions around me, I have a few hours in which to play and I feel in control and ready to kick butt. 1 is I came back home late last night, I am too tired and probably should not be playing. Forcing myself to assess my condition before beginning a session has done worlds of good for my game and overall poker psyche.

Good luck and hope you stick around at BRM and participate. If you are able to play well I am sure you have tips you can share with the rest of us.

cheers bud, tilt is a problem, i know im not alone in this boat and there is still time. i still got 150 of my bankroll. my problem is i zone out when i play, everything around me freezes and im on the table. just it didnt feel so much like i was playing people as it was the site, and also know variance is a bitch, gott learn how to tame it, and yes i was going for the quick fix, and the excel sounds like a good idea. using fpdb at the mo to track stats and the mood tracking is definately a step forward. cheers mahdrof for the support

and also cheers simon for keeping that a secret for me lol

shills would be very benificial to a site, they give me 20 free, we all know you run well at the beginning, so whats to say im not taking a good persons hard earned cash and plowing it straight into their own players who in turn make more money for the site. like i said it felt like i was playing more vs the comp than the site, could be my mindframe, but honestly, a few of you really went out of your way to be civil and slap me with the wisdom stick. proper rays of sunshine. ill leave it for now and let you all know if its play or bust
take it easy mad mate
Cool

What worries me is that you are giving advice about Poker and you cant even get the worst starting hand in poker correct.

I looked it up and you are right, my bad, I learned something new. In terms of advice, I will continue to share what I know (or in this case, think I know) and it is up to the member to decide what he will use based on his style of play. I have posted hands on this forum for the members to comment on and give me their opinion/advice, and do you think they are consistent with what they say? I don't think there is anything very much off the mark with the rest of my post....

What happened to chipski is something that happens to a lot of beginning players.

They get a free bankroll and start playing (some with a good bankrollmanagement) , if they win a bit they think they are gano make a lot of money and start climbing to fast in the tables.
The main reason is that they take to high risks, wanne clear the bonus to fast (looking to much at their points they need top clear)

I had the same expreience a coulple of years ago : got a 50$ free bankroll at FTP. Played SNG HU of 1 $ and some MTT with low buy-in. After 3 months cleared the bonus and my bankroll got up to 75$. Won a MTT (170 $), played SNG HU of 6$.After a top 4 place and my bankroll was about 450 $.
Then played 20$ SNG HU and MTT of 4-10$ buy-in
Lost some money and then made the mistake :instaed of starting to play at lower buy-ins , I kept playing at these high buy-ins , and lost almost everything.

Lucky me FTP got closed a few months later and had only about 30$ left. Imagine it would be 800$
Big Smile

Keep also in mind that playing poker should be a hobby (enjoy playing) or quit as you are not a pro that is making his living.

Your feeling is right ...you are playing against the site...no chance of winning in the long run.

9 out of 10 times you win after depositing or getting a NDB
After that you get shjit on until your BR is gone..

No illusion just online poker

The iPoker network have a nice software but i think they have the same unbelievable suckouts like all online poker rooms. I like this game, but i´m sure after five years that all pokerromms are rigged.

I dont know about others but the iPoker software is laggy at my computer,
and im talking for more than one room.
It didnt use to be that way.
Especially when you try to open the casino games.

Sorry, but lmao at this s**t.

You're playing like a complete moron thats why you lost all your money, and you had the bankroll management of a fool.

Simple, you shove AI with junk hands expecting miracles and when it doesn't happen you think a site is suspect lol.

However, regardless of your dumb play i have heard some bad things about iPoker. I don't play on their network.

The software on iPoker is really good if you ask me, never had problems back in the day i played over at Titan Poker.

Bad beats you get on every single poker site, maybe more on others but on iPoker i didn't noticed that you get more than average...
