Why so few brm members want to play in home game tournaments?  0
BRM'ers post your opinion why don't you want to play in private poker tournaments (home games) against other brm members. What makes you say no- is it the stakes, game type, lack of time anything else?
the biggest crowd i saw in home games tourney was 10 Sad(nl holdem, $0.11 tourney)
we had a $0.11 badugi tourney- 3 players played,
$0.11 nl omaha hi/lo tourney- 2 players only,
then $0.11 nl bigger stack- 4 players showed up (an improvement in size),
this saturday (september 1st) we are holding $1.10 pl omaha deep stack tourney (more info here: http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&id... maybe the bigger buyin will attract more players?
maybe the opposite- play money tournaments would be more popular? So any ideas why such low activity?

Didn't even know there were BRM private poker tournaments out there :O

After looking to it in the most simplistic way i would say the games are not very popular - badugi nl omaha hi/lo (ye it is kinda popular but most ppl play NL HE).

I think the buy in can be seen in different ways.. if i were you .. i would make a ye.. maybe 1.1 tournament to attract players who are looking for a bit more money.. or i would go for something like .02c buy in NL HE or something.
I mean it's not alot of money but exactly for that reason many people might register coz everyone can afford it.

Well I can only speak for myself, but i am planning to take a more active roll in thye forums and love the idea of home games. I will most certainly be playing that 1.10 plo this saturday. just wondering if the games are held in the origonal home game group which i am already a member of?

I want to see this forum thrive, I've always loved BRM, its staff and members and hold a blog on here as well. tomorow will be my next post and i will make sure to mention the plo game.

check me out stoned and talented poker blog. peace yall

-yeah this week we are gonna do a $1.10 buy in tourney- to see if players are interested in bigger buy in tourneys.
-we thought that small buy in tourneys might attract more players- so we played a few $0.11 tourneys (min possible buy in), experimented with less popular poker forms to get a feeling whether there is interest in them...

atm i can say that whatever buyin we choose, crowd remains small- and this bugs me just out of curiosity: i.e. brm $25 freeroll has abut 2000 players who play for few hours for a few cents...and have no problem with this- but if they have an opportunity to play against fellow brm'ers in a private tourney even with a small buy in- they say no?

I dont play because i dont have money left in my account, i tryed to mak a shot in plo 50 lst week and i went busto, but i barely play freerolls either.
I dont believe that all of these freeroll players are BRM members, the way we see so many russian and east european players, iam sure they put the passwrods in other forums to fill in the tournments!

will be glad to have you around, though this is a new home games club, i am also part of that old one, but it's not very active atm, still maybe it will be back firing on all cylinders Smile if you want to join game this saturday (and apply to home games club), check the info here:http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&a... (post the update on your decision in that thread- it's official brm home games thread! so any info about home games goes there)

glad to have a mention in your blog post, will check that for sure Thumbs Up

yeah i also think that around 90% of brm freeroll players are non brm'ers which is a shame, i just wonder if brm freeroll would be organized through home games club- this way only club members would be able to play- and no worries about the leaked passwords etc.

For me its just a lack of time and that I maybe forget about these tourneys.
But in general I am interested in playing these.
Nevertheless I don´t have experience in homegames and I am wondering about what I have to do to participate ?

How to apply to the club:
- If you don't already have it, download PokerStars software
- Open the main poker lobby, then click on the Home Games tab
- Click the 'Join a Poker Club' button
- Enter Club ID number: 671258
- Enter Invitation Code: pokerisrigged

That's it! Once I've approved your membership request you can register for the tourney!

If you want to request any specific tourney (game type, stakes, blinds etc.), share your opinion, look for updates about new tournaments being organized head here: http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&id... - this is official brm home games thread- post any info, ideas, requests here. hopefully we will see you at the tables this saturday Big Smile

If you want your home club bigger you should try harder to attract members, advertize on other places, not only here. And you have a lot of competition with other home clubs, regular tourneys, freerolls.Good luck

couldn't play any poker this past weekend bcoz of a prior commitment. Atm have hit a major downswing so naturally am excercising bankroll mgmt. Climbing back out slowly so when you offer the .11 BI i'll be back again. As far as brm freerolls there are plenty of freeroll hunters out there and the p/w gets posted all over...this hasn't changed since i've played them and won't. It's a fact of freeroll life and I just do my best to cash in one. The only real skill playing these is knowing when to fold so one can come away with something for the time and effort... the rest is luck.
Don't always post.... I'm here everyday so I'll kept checking your thread.

Sorry but what little time I have available I dedicate to trying to crush the cash tables and play large MTTs in preparation for trying to qualify for a large live event. If I had more time I would love to play against you guys and get to know you better. Sorry. Sad

Personally I don't participate cos I don't have an account at stars and will not any time soon.

Who exactly do you want to join? Correct me if I'm wrong but the idea is to have BRM members play together, specifically those you know from the forum or perhaps those who play BRM freerolls. There is no point advertising it anywhere other than in this forum. But there aren't many forum regs once you exclude those who don't play at stars, or who don't play at that time or don't play that game.

I think you'll have to face facts that you will never have more than 30 players but that doesn't really matter if you can have a good game and talk about the result in the forum. You could try spreading the word in the freerolls but considering most of them are freeroll hunters who do not give a s**t about this site, I don't expect you will get many takers.

Good Post i think roughly the same- and yeah i do not expect to have millions of members- i mentioned above that biggest number we had on a brm tourney was 10- now taking this step by step i want to have at least this number of players who regularly play private tourneys and then gradually increase it, not sure where we will end up, but it never hurts to find out Big Smile

Spot on.

there are several reasons that i could think of why there are not many players :

1 .PS is the only site and a lot of players there have an empty bankroll and only play freerolls (2000 players in BRM freeroll)
2. a lot of BRM have had a no deposit bonus on other site, maybe try other sites.

Considering this maybe BRM could offer some extra price money for a GTD torney or a freeroll where only the BRM members are allowed.

I personnally stopped playing at PS 2 years ago and switched sites.
Also I always support the uinderdogs...

... so when you offer the .11 BI i'll be back again...

glad to hear this. i think we could do a couple on tournaments a week on our club- one with $1.10 buy in and one with $0.11 buy in. Saturday & Sunday could be the dates, any ideas? (better post in our official brm home games thread)

Thanks pochui for giving me the technical advice to join the club.
Guess I will register and if I have time on Saturday I will play the tourney, even though I am not very good at Omaha.
Having a choice of $1.10 and .11 tourneys is a good idea I think.

well with an unprecedented amount of 100% support (1 vote Big Smile ) for the idea- this week i will try to organize $1.1- & $0.13 tourneys both- this week is just a try, but i hope we will build on this in the coming weeks. precise info here: http://www.bankrollmob.com/forum.asp?mode=thread&id... look for my last post (bottom of page)
