Played for 2 hours and didn't win a single hand  0
So, I was playing some poker today and I was playing for about 2 hours and I honestly didn't win a single hand, no matter what I had. I had KK, someone had AA, I had AA, someone hit 2 pair, I had 2 pair, someone hit a set, I flop a set, someone gets runner runner straight and so on. I even hit four of a kind, opponent gets runner runner straight flush...

I guess I should just accept that this just isn't my day.. All and all, I lost about $5 since I was playing $0.01 / 0.02 limit. Even thou it wasn't a big loss, it still sucked!! Imagine yourself to have a good run with great cards and still not winning a single hand Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

And they say this is the dark site of the variance....It seems this is one of these days, where you can do what you want and win nothing. Or the opponent hit everey flop with any cards...

The downswing hit you Big Smile You are wrong if you have a good run you are winnng sometime even with not such good cards. You can be lucky to loose just 2.5 BI, just take some pause of poker and then go play your best game and it will be ok. Good luck. Big Smile Thumbs Up

You kept playing for too long, with the results you were getting.
I would have stopped way earlier than two hours.
And yes you were unlucky with all those cards.
Take a break have fun and gl with your next session

Since you lost already 5 dollars at these limit you should already have your answer on what you should do today: stop playing!

It is possible that a bit of tilt is on and you also made some bad decisions at the end.

It happend to all os us, the trick is to know when to stop!

if you are having one of those session consider a few options: stop playing for a few hours, change the game- i.e. if you are playing nl texas fcuk'em try your luck at pl omaha, or try to change cash tables to sng's, mtt's maybe even heads up sng's- don't just sit there and throw away money, especially if you feel like you are on a bad run

If you are playing well and making no mistakes but you are losing i dont see why people say you better stop for a few hours..

If you are at your A-game you have to keep on grinding because what will those few hours do for u ??

Going on or taking a pause wont make any difference..

Why playing if the server is against you?You were on chains at the table?Shut down computer, take
a walk in the park and things will come around.
Good luck

It's the typical when you re on a bad flow.

When you re having the best cards everyone folds and you win almost nothing

when you have a good hand someone else is having a better one or has a lucky river.

This is all part of the poker game , just be glad you only lost 5$

As some of you have said, a break would have been in order. But as remco said, taking a break while being on your A game and not doing any stupid moves but still lose won't change a thing. I was actually thinking that eventually I'll hit that turning point and I'll be back to my winning ways. I mean, who here can honestly say that when getting AA, KK, AK, AQs, TT, KQs and so on pretty much at least half of your hands would actually stop playing and not think that one of these hands will turn it around for you?

Great hands, monster hands, etc. every single lap around the table and great flops some of those times, I was hoping that at some point I would run out of bad luck but apparently so wasn't the case.

Also, I didn't even win one of those small pots when everyone folds. I didn't even get the small blind when I was BB. I actually did not win a single hand I was dealt into, not just the ones post flop. I never one pre flop and I never won post flop. Pretty much my most unlucky day since I started playing poker online about 3 years ago...

Just depends whether you're prone to tilt or not.. but sure, if you can truly keep up your A game then keep on playing! Easier said than done though.

I have had similar bad runs .. days where nothing hits even if i realize it and start playing passivly and choosing my cards really wise.. they hit but someone has the nuts.

Just turn poker off and tomorrow will be a better day!

If you literally haven't won a hand in 2 hours play, you need to go an learn some poker.

That seems imposible to me, so I assume you won at least a few hands.

Unless you're playing mega-tight and only premium hands.

I do know how to play poker so that's not an issue.

I didn't win any hand what so ever. I thought it was impossible myself, but now I've experienced it first hand.

I'm not playing mega tight but I do have quite a low profile at the tables.

Well something is amiss, because unless you played like 10 hands in 2 hours (where you could definitely lose all of them) you're not reading your opponents well enough or asserting your game on people.
AKA they probably have you pegged and know your range.

What's the lowest hands you're betting with and seeing flops with?

I'm not so sure that's the issue since they only lucked out on runner runners most of the times... Anyway, I usually leave a cash table about 1,5x what I came in with so I don't think there's anything wrong with my play..

Since I play limit I can call to see the flop with suited connectors with 78 lowest, any pocket pair up to 6, AX suited, AT or any two suited cards. If I miss on the flop I will mostly make a minimum call to see the turn, if I miss there I'll fold unless I have like a double ended straight draw or a flush draw or maybe both. So all and all I would only lose at most $0,10 on seeing the turn with a decent starting hand.

I only bet the flop when I hit the top pair or better.

If you can find any flaws in my play, please say so!

Those kind of days do come along every now and then. I have just read a Phil Hellmuth book and he makes a(brief) comment about such. Its at these times that you have to hold your nerve and maintain your patience and not get drawn into tilting.
