Which of these distracting activities would you be most likely to do alongside poker and still make a profit? Which of them, if any, would increase your chances of making a profit in poker and which distractions would you avoid completely whilst playing poker online?
And FWIW I am playing a tournament whilst I'm typing this.

Best distraction would, without a doubt, be cooking . I used to be a chef and I still love to cook. In fact probably more so now there's no pressure involved.

In my early days MSN (skype) was Nr1 distraction for me (also BRM forum btw ) Had mostly 9/12 tables of DoNs on 2 sites and BRM and MSN. Then i dropped MSN a bit and did only BRM and my ROI went up 1%

Starting with worst distraction : TELEVISION, they manipulate us, that's why I chose not to watch tv anymore, best distraction : GIRLS , FOOTBALL , MUSIC , POKER

Talking on the phone/looking after children, Nothing more distracting than talking on the phone when you don't want to but you are forced to because it is a person you respect alot and you dont want to make upset (like your grandparents) or having your children/mum/sisters running around while your trying to focus.

I'm going to have to vote for the phone myself funny, soon as I start typing it rings. Wow! Anyway as I was saying the phone since it seems my Mother will call and I go into these trances and she always is saying, are you there? hello! I'm always apologizing and she thinks I'm knuts for playing poker online anyway.
As for things that don't bother me is my Grand-Daughter or music even the tube is okay if a race or football is on. But, I can bounce my grand daughter, sing with her and count with her and still stay focused on poker for the most part. I actually think she's my little goodluck charm.
Television ... I usually watch some movies or sports while I'm playing poker, just to have something in the background. When I just started out, I always played some playstation while playing tournaments so I wouldn't play to many hands . Surprisingly it worked haha.
Television is good.... I can watch TV and play poker without any problem... Watching the children is the most worst... I can't concentrate on my game because my children wants to play poker....hahaha...they want to take my place....
