Okay, so recently got an offer from sociablade, offering me a partnership for my poker related youtube channel. Reading through the contract, it seems like there's nothing really cryptic, but I'm still somewhat apprehensive. I've wanted to attain partnership status since I started my channel, and I am totally blown away that I've been given the opportunity.
Basically the perks:
Channel Branding Increased ad revenue CPM They'll market my channel for me
The cons:
They take 40% of the revenue my channel makes Unlike adsense who pays directly to my bank account, they pay via paypal or paper cheque.
Depends on you. Can you live with a 60/40 deal. If your revenues increase does 60% equal or better what you make at !00%. How long wud it take to break even? These are the areas I'd be concerned about. One other thing, is there an escape clause? If the project goes South are you protected in any way?

Posted by zeroster: Any chance of a probationary period with them before you enter into a full contract?
Unfortunately not. I'd be locked in for 1 year.
Another perk I forgot to mention, is access to royalty free media for inclusion in my videos. Kinda cool that I could enhance my videos with music etc.

i think you need to think about it in this way- will 60% revenue with partnership make me more than 100% revenue on my own? try to get "proof of results"- how are similar channels of yours are doing when partnered with this company, have their revenues risen, how much etc.- anyway you look at it after one year you will still be able to dump them, so the worst thing that can happen to u is losing a year...
