i believe it's tourneys. You always see more people on them and going for them, and their prizes, with low buy-ins, turn them into great events very popular. About the cash, only regulars play cash, first timers go there once, burn all the stack and never get back. So that turns it into a less popular game, because regulars will always be less than curious and first timers toghether!

Depends on what mod i am in...... Cashgame whenever i got limited time and tourneys whenever i can sit down relax and just wait for a nice hand to arrive.
But i think people in general like tournaments more, cuz of the small investment and the chance to win big.

Depends, generally speaking I would say. However, probably only only if you DON'T include freerolls.. There are simply sooo many freeroll players out that, it would dramatically skew the results, especially since there's no cash equivalent of a freeroll.

Havent ever thought about that Most of the players will play both at some points but there a re some that are dedicated to one of them after some time. Probably the tournaments if you consider jess's though about freerolls

If you want play 10-20 hands or want win/lose money fast you can play cash... If you want to play with few $ for big prize you can play tournament... but this require time and a good music for relax

i think tourneys- just because most popular things in online poker are the cheapest ones- and cash game requires a roll to start with and r more cash consuming than mtt's- lets look at stars- they offer $0.02, $0.10, $0.25 sng's, $0.25 mtt's, freeroll mtt's- now what would u do with 2 cents on the cash tables

Definately tournaments are a lot more popular than cash games, i think that only people familiar with online poker know about high stakes cash games...
I think in general people know more about tournaments because from time to time there are news saying that someone won a major poker tournament and got a large amount of

i would say that there is more players that play in tourneys than what there is playing cash games, the majority of new players seem to play tourneys rather than cash games as well,so it's tourneys foe me.

I think that on most pokersites tha amount of players on all cash tables is higher than the ones doing a torney. ( freerolls not included) In torneys with low buy-in you have a lot of lucky hitters ( even worse when you play freerolls) that hope to win a big price for a low buy-in.
I personnally prefer cash tables (also fast forward) or sng. Torneys are mostly over 4 hours which is to long for me

Hmm seems like we couldn't reach an agreement on this so I looked it up and although I couldn't find a definite answer it looks like there's a lot of online players compared to those playing cash at any one time. That doesn't necessarily mean all the rest are tournament players but I bet a lot of them are waiting for freerolls to start. As Jess pointed out you sort of need to eliminate freerolls to get a true comparison.
But I think even still, there are more newbies and small bankrolls than veteran regulars or bonus grinders online and that makes for more tournaments. I think new poker players are more familiar with tournaments to start so they come to online poker looking for them. But there is no doubt that most of the rake earned by poker sites comes from cash games so if you look at where most of the money online is being played it's cash. Besides this I think cash players are more likely to be multi-tabling at any one time so there may appear to be more traffic than there really is.
