mmm...lets see....born of an idea...the invention of cards. Then card games...evolving to poker. This couldn't satisfy all so variants came about. So in effect the idea game first,eveything else a natural progression.

But without players there is no game. The chips cant move themselves. It's only an idea until the game is being played and then the game evolves into poker.

Without the idea there can never be a player to put the idea into practice. So firts an idea of the game, then a player turning the idea into practice. So yeah the game (or idea of a game) was first then the player.

Actaully it took an individual to define the rules and name the game poker. I'm going to have to be opposite of everyone else's reply up to now and state the the player was playing the game then only did the player decide to name the game poker. This leave the question open for dispute because the name had to exist to be the poker player, but still the player ahd to be playing it in order to give it the name. Damn! Confusing!
I believe that the original possible finishing hand ranking were determined. this is the essence of poker. then poker players came along and began developing new variations of the game.

Question about egg is much much simpler. The evolution created animals similar to chicken and develop it to chicken... but first they must be egg - maybe not egg from chicken but EGG. During millions years chicken came from some animal, so EGG was first on 100%

I'm not creationist... I don't believe in God, etc... I prefer science So I know (from science) that all of the living organism are "created" by evolution - from simple form to more advanced.

Haha. I somehow knew the chicken egg debate would crop up. It's the egg. People saying chicken are just being awkward as in 'who laid the egg then?' but not really coming up with an answer just another question. Even if you are a creationist does that mean you think Adam and Eve were created as adults rather than babies. I suppose God wasn't really fussed about the reproduction process, I mean he let Eve have sex with her sons to produce the rest of the human race. But a chicken is a bird and a bird starts life out as an egg, if it didn't come from an egg it wasn't really a chicken as we would identify it today. Chickens come from eggs. Eggs come from loads of things.
