After all it didn't took that long before there were only three. Greg Merson assumed the leadership, but Jesse Sylvia is still on the boat and that can only mean things won’t be easy. But the difference in terms of chips is now very big, with the first having 88 million, the second 62 million and the third 46 million. Jake Balsiger seems like a rookie when he talks that way, amazed with what’s happening, he really fits the title of first timer, and he is, at least in a table like that! Jesse Sylvia still believes it’s possible to change the course and if it’s him who gets to the final HU Greg Merson, it will sure be a very interesting final.

Are Televised Final Tables Too Long?
The new champion Greg Merson played tremendously well, always seemed to know where he was at, and came across like a really classy professional.
The other talking point to come out of the final this year was how damn long it was. The final table lasted 398 hands. Three-handed play took well over 11 hours before we saw Merson take it down.
The length of the final table was also somewhat down to the time taken to make decisions, both from the players and the fact that ESPN made some inevitable stops and starts to ensure it was well produced.
