You played wrong. I would reraise him on flop every time. This way you were clueless. Why calling such relatively high raise on turn when you are going to fold river bet.
To sum it up. Good preflop raise picked one guy then you made huge mistake not reraising and after it also calling turn hoping he wont raise more so your hand will come to showdown and be the best one.
p.s. i said good preflop raise cause only one guy called but i would make it 4-5 bb at least in cash game. It's not tournament so you don't want to be called with all kinds of crap.

You have flopped top set! Why do you play it so passive? Raise your opponent after he made that lousy half pot size bet at the flop. We do not mind, if he comes over the top.

Hey Sorin, even me think you played very bad the flop... with set you could made C bet... or check-raise... not check-call... have you played multy-table? where was your attention ? hope next time you'll do a nice move, wish you all the best

Indead bad postflop play here :
you decide to check the flop even if you have hit a set and there s a possible flushdraw and possible straight draw (2 diamonds and 8-9 combination)
but when your opponents raises after your check you should defenitely reraise (at least 1/2 pot or more) and make him pay for his possible flush or str draw.
You had the nuts postflop (highest set) , if he called your big reraise postflop and still hits , that s bad luck but yuo gave it away the turn for free

What the hell? Did you put him on flush or straight when seeing the river? If you did you played bad, and you should have folded before calling those $0.40 on the turn. To me, the best way to play would have been either to call in the end, after slow playing like you did, or you should have raised him on the turn to his all-in. After seeing all the cards is easier to talk, but you had three of a kind at the flop and you slow played, ok, nice. But then looks like you left yourself go on your opponent’s talk. By not wanting to reveal much of your game, you ended up being afraid to lose the hand and you folded. You should have re-raise on the turn, I would, there were only low cards on the table and you were above at that point. There’s no point in trying to eliminate competition in a cash game, he will load with more and keep on the table, win what you can in each hand, but don’t give yourself the chance to be afraid of what your opponent might have. It looks to me that you have lost a good chance of winning this hand.
TBO here I have checked that type of flop before, only because I was setting a trap, If opponent bets I come over the top if not auto shove the turn. It's standard to get all ones chips in the middle when one flops a monster. Even if he calls the AI and you lose on the river, it's still the correct play becoz it's +ev long term. Can't say it any plainer. BTW the Poker Brat won one of his bracelets with that very same hand.

Well, on that flop I easily go broke if oppo try to resist to my bets.
If playing microstakes my line here would be bet/bet /bet. Oppo depending, also a check/raise would be a good move imho: as you are out of position it would useful to extract some value from this hand if oppo is bluffing because of reading your check as a sign of weakness.
Generally, without particular reads, I try to put all my chips in the middle as soon as possible, either pre and post flop, if I have a good hand (the later on the turn) ....and a top set is definitely a very good hand, axpecially on that flop.
You played way too passive ......everything imho

I must agree... You played too passive! After flop you had 100% chances for this moment. You had three of a kind, and he wait (I think) with cards like A T and you give him chance to hit the flush...

Like today... We were 3 on flop. I was out of position. I flopped 2 pairs (A 9) I checked flop (like a id1ot ) they both checked too. I bet on turn little more than half of pot size. They called both. There was no flush draw or straight draw possibility on turn. I bet river almost pot size. One player folded second went all in.. I called. He hits set of fours on river...
Definitively I should bet after flop, then if someone call, I should bet pot size or little more on turn.. I dont think that he could call me this way with his 44...
