Just want to know, if my poker related website, without any affiliate ads, would be allowed to post here? I know in the past I couldn't post my YT/Website here, because I had ads, but I'm in the process of completely removing all afilliate ads (with the exception of the ones here), and wonder if you'll give the go ahead.

No I'm afraid not, not at the moment. Like I wrote elsewhere, we cannot keep track of sites that are linked to all the time to make sure if they suddenly turn into a big poker/casino advertising space or something like that. We don't mind if members link to poker related websites that are not their own as long as it's relevant for the discussion, but once it's your own site then it easily becomes a game of putting up "related content/videos" on your own site just in order to link to it, and so on.

really? I never realised that, I've always avoided it - to the peril of some things I've wanted to say / share. Although, I'm guessing you're probably just as happy that we generally avoid it anyway.

Really dissapointed, as the one thing I think this site majorly lacks is a solid strategy video/article section. I've had numerous requests to share my youtube channel, which in the past was a problem because of ads.

If you were really keen maybe you could build something that admin could annex onto this site? Like actually build a section into brm? That would cool.

I'd completely be for it. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to implement into the site, and definitely something I'd be willing to contribute too. An entire strategy section would add a lot of value to the site, and perhaps also even liven up the forums a bit.

isn't there a subforum called poker strategies already? you might just add your youtube content there (as a thread with yt video in it) in an appropriate order, so that it would be easy to follow- i.e. from beginner to more advanced. the idea itself is nice- anything that helps players become better players is

Not a bad idea, if at least I was able to post my youtube videos, but I think admins already basically said no.

Yeah there is a sub-forum, but once people finish commenting on any strategy published, it's just going to drop off the first page and ultimately out of mind.
There could instead be a strategy section: With categories and various articles in each category and of course video strategy as well.. Would be something a bit different.

or the original strategy videos (threads with youtube links) could be made as stickies . yeah i like the idea of having strategy section- this would complement the site. not sure how this should be done, and who will be updating the section, cause if you leave it to the members they can upload lots of "strategical advice" on going all in with 27o as a +ev move....and i doubt anyone at brm want any extra work themselves...

That's the problem, who would be able to post strategy?
Some members, retribution and jess included would be posting good stuff but if people like pochui, for instance, were posting it would be filled with nonsense.

i would definitely agree that this site would benefit loads from a proper strategy section with video content. i think alot of people would welcome that. hope you can sort it out in some way. good luck

Posted by pochui: have to strongly disagree here, i have even a poker strategy book released, it's called "kill the tables with 27 off"
My girlfriend would LOVE that book. She purposely picked 72o as one of her "favorite hands" just because her brother and I always go on about it being "the worst starting hand". So of course every time she gets it, she HAS to play it just to be able to say "see, it DOES win some times".
A stickied thread would be a good alternative, but the problem is that a lot of people likely never even make their way to the forums, thus why it's not as good as an entire section/pages within the site itself. That said, I'd have no problem creating and maintaining a stickied thread, but unfortunately:

My videos DO advertise my site. Which no longer has affiliate ads, or promotional items whatsoever with the exception of BRM.

Isn't 1 thread enough? Quit spamming, and quit hi-jacking threads.
