DIRTY DOZEN S'n'G JACKPOT  0
OK so I have decided to challenge myself into taking down the said jackpot above on i-poker. Has anyone tried this before? if so how did you get on and does anyone have any advice? i'm not much of a sit and go player so it definitely will be a challenge.

I have read about this dirty dozen SnG´s x-times but i don´t know the rule and conditions about this kind of game. And where can i see how much money in actually in the jackpot?

you need to win 4 in a row to win $2000

Its not an easy task to manage.
Most of the ones are playing here are regulars in the jackpot.
Try to keep some notes.
Of course you will need to be lucky to take that prize Smile so the best of luck.
So far ipoker is your platform anyways Big Smile

sure seems doable on paper...gl with your attempts, post the updates. i think setting up a "chinese sweatshop" would severely increase ones chances of successfully claiming the jackpot Big Smile

Well at least it s a good start.

But It will be very hard to win 4 in a row.

Statistical you have 16.6% chance to win a 6 person SNG

For winning 4 times in a row this means 0.166 *0.166 * 0.166 * 0.166

0.07% chance to win the jackpot

This is purely mathematicla and the figures are based on the fact that every player has the same pokerskills

Just wanne say that you need good pokeerskills to reach the jackpot

i won 3 in a row on full tilt the other day, i like 6 seat sngs, i think they work best in my style of play.
making me think of going for it as of next weekend.

in pretty sure you can only claim each jackpot once, so anyone whos done it before wouldnt bother again.

Yeah the most I've ever won is 3 -45 player $2.20 SnG's back in the fulltilt days. Since playing on Carbon I can hardly win 1 out of 4. I don't know if I've changed or there's more players who play hands with anything.
Anyway I wish you the best on your quest to take down 4 in a row. The $2000 would be nice this time of year.

I think people over-estimate the difficulty of winning 4 sngs in a row, especially 9 or 6 mans. Winning 4 in a row shouldn't be too difficult, especially if the micro stakes ones count.

On that note, you'd think 6man sngs should be easier to beat, but there's a few reasons why 6mans actually have MORE variance than 9mans.

1 - You're shorthanded right off the hop, so full orbits happen much faster, thus effective stacks deplete faster.

2 - You have to open up your ranges more in 6mans, wider ranged steals also mean wider range calls, thus you're prone to more flip scenarios earlier.

3 - The collective chip pool is around 33% smaller than a 9man, meaning your "big stack" is actually smaller in proportion to the rest of the table, compared to what it would be in a 9man.

Of course there's less opponents, so as long as you've got a comfortable skill edge, you should do well considering you only have to be better than 5 other people compared to 8 in a full ring, but there's still a major difference based on all the other factors.

OK so for the jackpot you have to play the jackpot s'n'gs which are $2.40 12 man (2 tables of 6)
i'm pretty comfortable playing 6 max because that's all i used to play when playing cash games. so have a good idea of what to play when and how wide my range should be. so i guess 6 max is better for me than full ring s'n'gs. i just need to think about odds a bit more and what to push with on the button and in the sb when unopened.
but being only $2.40 i think i could have a slight edge over some of the other players (based on my 1st tourny that i played) there was a couple of decent-ish players i noticed but thats about it. the rest were as you would expect for that buy in.
so all in all i think it is pretty doable if i concentrate and play my best game and of course the cards fall right for me.

Depends on stack size. If you, or either the BB or SB are 15BB or less:

Any 2 face
Any ace
any pp 66+

10BB or less:

Any 2 face
any ace
any pp 66+
any face suited

Of course it goes without saying that shove/fold, you have to consider the lowest stack that could possibly enter as being the stack size you're dealing with. So if SB has 15bb and BB has 6BB and you have 20BB then effectively you're looking at the stack size effectively being 6BB.

That being said, it pays to be careful shoving into a micro stack 5BB+. Their calling range is going to be so wide, you lose so much of your fold equity, and doubling up the micro AND taking a big shot to your stack is doubly bad, because effecitvely you're trading places with them. Because of that, I'd say shove a bit tighter when they are involved.

1 of my FAVORITE moves, especially if BB is a bigger stack than me, SB is a small stack and I've got a decent stack size, is to min-raise a bit wider. If SB jams and BB calls, I can comfortably fold knowing either the small stack is gone, or he doubles up and cripples the bigger stack, leaving 2 smaller stacks instead of 1 big stack. Best case scenario is, they both fold and you pick up a nice pot with little risk.

It's a risky move, and it REALLY is dependent on any reads you've got on their tendencies, but you wouldn't believe how often it works, especially if the big stack refuses to take on the smaller stacks like so many people tend to do for some god forsaken reason.

You're right, except they're 12 person SNGs, so it's more like 8.33% for each one so 0.083^4 = 0.0048% to win the $2K Jackpot.

see above, for what it's worth - if you look at the site, on average it's less than one person a month winning 4 in a row. I think you're under-estimating.
