A new tournament idea for BRM members.  0
Okay, so I've put a lot of thought into this, and think I've finally come up with a unique, fun idea for a competition we can have here at BRM. Concept is simple:

Each round, players must play FOUR tourneys at once. Rounds will be:

1 - 4 9man NLHE
2 - 4 9man PLO
3 - 4 9man Pot Limit HE

I'm open to ideas/suggestions on this, and we could even look at doing 6max as well.

Rules are relatively simple. You MUST take a screen shot, clearly showing all 4 tourneys at the beginning. It MUST show the tourney ID, and start time.

At the end, you can post screenies of each tourney either individually, or all together. The tourney id/start/end times MUST be visible. The reason I think this is neccessary, is for players to show they entered the tourneys at the same time so they can't just pick and choose the best 4, it HAS to be a block of 4 started at once.

Points will be rewarded based on the finish of each tourney. Say something like:

1st - 32 points
2nd - 22 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 8 points
5th - 6 points
6th - 4 Points
7th - 2 points
8th - 1 points
9th - 0 points.

I was thinking, if we got enough interest, we could do a few rounds of "elimination" where the bottom 2 players get eliminated, until there's say 8 players left. The remaining 8 would face off in a traditional bracket style tourney, determined by their overall score for each round, with the best vs worst, kind of like how the NHL playoffs work. Each 1v1 would run the same way as previously, until the final 2 which would be a HU match best of 5.

Any ideas/suggestions/opinions welcome of course.

Hoping maybe Admin would allow us to bet points again, with an 70/30 payout for the 2 finalists.

I think this could be a lot of fun, as A) it will help some players who aren't used to multi-tabling, to get used to the pace of 4 tables (which honestly isn't that bad at all). As well, playing different formats each round would keep it fresh, and again get players to try out different poker games that they wouldnt normally play.

i love the fact that u r trying to organize something Thumbs Up . imho the weakest part of the suggestion is the whole "post the screenie" part. i think you can organize the 9 man sng in your home games club & all the stats will be available to you & u can easily calculate the points & provide the standings... Confused

Well the whole point of this is to get people multi-tabling, and trying out new poker formats. I'm open to ideas/tweaks from anyone.

As for buyins, I'd LOVE to say any, but that wouldn't provide a very level playing field. I know that if it's not play chips, it may be somewhat restrictive to a lot of people, but at the same time play chip sngs are ridiculously easy, and won't provide much of a competition.

and you point here? in home games you can multitable- you can create several tourneys on the same time, or with 5 min difference...any poker format that is available at pokerstars is available for a home game too...

imo everything depends whether u can arrange brm points added to the prizepool. if this is the case, then play money is the way to go, and people will not donk around more than usual, since they will want to win the prize (brm points).
if you want to go the $ route, then there are these issues: imo very few players will show up, what's the "correct buy-in"? i think this ranges from player to player by a lot...overall i believe the level of play would be a little bit higher with the paid structure, but quantity of heads would drop Big Smile

It seems nice, but I think we will see a problem in the beginning of this. Some will want to play this way for free, others will want to do it with a buy-in, it will be difficult to arrange 36 players/mobsters available to play all together at the same time, and with the same buy-in. But I hope this idea can go ahead, it’s nice to see mobsters are interested in group activities and to try to find some other ways to win mobpoints and presenting them to BRM for discussion.

retribution, does this allow everyone to play at a site of their own chosing since I'm limited? That's why we use the screen shots to show our status or finishes, etc.

If so, I will participate if administration wants to allow us to use our points. Plus everyone will need to be playing the same buy-in amount or no. As long as it was the same game classification I guess buy-in amounts wouldn't really matter. Far as I'm concerned players that want to participate and don't have money to play with could use play money games as long as they stay withing the classification. Also, the time frame would have to be the primary control to show a player was in 4 games within an alotted amount of time. Say it takes me 30 minutes to get into 4 - NLHE games at $1.10 buy-in.

What's hard is to get into 4 - HE games at a reasonable buy-in since there aren't many players getting in to that type of classification on Carbon. Just thinking about the seriousness of the game classifications.

Well I was thinking it could happen either on Stars or FT, but for the sake of allowing EVERYONE a chance to play, I don't see why we can't allow any site.

i usually dont play more than 3 tourneys or tables at same time .... i even think if play real cash tourneys its better to play more than one or it gets way too boring and start play with bad hands Big Smile

Good Idea. But, sad i can't support you to play at the game. Cause I just play hold'em, don't know omaha and others. and time zone ! usually not at good time for me to play.

Will be great if mob points can change to TICKET at poker site , hope admin think to improve, lol Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile .
