Greeting's mate.
I am most definately a gamer both on PC and paper. I first started gaming 37 years ago with the original basic D&D boxed set and start pc games just as early.
I am also know a writer and have had my worked read by people in at least 5 different country's. I am getting alot of pressure to finish my new Fantasy novel but have allowed myself to get distracted by poker, Mount & Blade and Elder Scroll IV.

I played counterstrike 1.6 for 6-7 years I left it 5-6 months before. Now I play 1-2 hours in week GTA SA just for fun (I will probably try GTA V), or some racing game with good physics (WRC 2, race 07)

However, I'm am totally hooked on civilization IV and V.
Civ is awesome, I never played Civ IV though, but I do now have V, I've only played a single game though. But I spent literally hundreds of hours on each of Civ I, II and III.
I just purchased Endless Space actually, for PC - same type of game - turn based strategy, but it's in space!

That game is a little different, albeit turn based.

Yeah - Civ III was pretty awesome.. I probably spent the most time playing Civ II though, hell of a lot of time on all of them though.. But CivIII I liked because there were heaps of good Mods out for it, Realism mods and such that greatly expanded on the core gameplay - also - multiplayer was a lot better in CivIII. When CivII multi player was released, IMO it was pretty unplayable.
------------ Also - CivII had that massive exploit where if you picked Fanaticism as your government type, the game became about 10 million times easier and you just got uber rich.

Having played them all I'd say that civ IV with the Warlords add on and the Realism mod gives the most complex, and to me, satisfying gameplay.

hahaha that'd be right: Literally the ONLY Civ game in the main franchise that I never played !
