As long as they did not discuss it, there's nothing you can do about it. Technically it's still collusion, but it's also good tactics to gang up on the small stack.

Or are you suggesting they were in contact via Skype or something?

They can use phone... no one can see if they speech on the phone... btw... pokerstars have term and conditions... where it says : when you run pokerstars soft we can see your desktop... so anything you do on your desktop they see... you can consider lucky cuz you finish ITM on 3rd place with 30-40% + your buy in... or you played FTP buy in? if you played FTP you get back your points.. don't be frustred... that is poker online... live if i see 2 players who played like this... i call the manager of tournament and if he don't do something with that 2 players, i kick them Smile) Aww crap!

Yeah, not fair. But need more investigation to make FT band them. Just make a note or mention their name here, so we can help you watching them. Just wish FT saw their hand and catch they played unfair, lol

I saw those situation pretty often... but I see only Russian players do some like collusion... and they also yell and shout to every who beat their hands and who accuse it about collusion. I don't know what it could be done...

Even if, like Doarulle said, the PokerStars see their desktops, the calling in Skype is not forbidden... Or maybe PS also listen??? But it would be rather spyware Tongue

It's to bad players would be doing something like this and hopefully it's not something someone would be doing to win a bit of cash. I don't understand the 50 / 50 deal unless they are actually colluding by use of a phone or some other means to eventually split their winnings.

This is potentially a big problem for online poker as if they do it right and manage to get on the same table, which is quite easy with sng's then theybcan get away with it and no one will ever know. You did the rightbthing reporting it but no doubt FTP will need a few more calls about the same players to keep an eye on them.

aye it's bad if players are doing this and getting away with it. ffs it's hard enough trying to win without
people colluding .
Keep you're eye on other tables and if you see them doing it again report them straight away.

The best thing you can do about this is take screenshots, if they are chatting and then
notify support with the tournament details, and hope that they will do something about it.

The easiest way is to go through their event histories which you can get off sharkscope. If they are playing regularly at the same tables then report it immediately.

Yup. Often Online poker sites will do nothing about things like this, unless they are presented with concrete evidence. I play 9mans a lot, and I've noticed a lot of implicit colussion. You know, were 2 big stacks will actively attack the short stack. By definition it IS colussion, but it's also a viable tactic, so there are a lot of times where it's pretty grey area.

On the other hand, I've also noticed plenty of times where 2 people from the same country will actively play against everyone else, and occasionally get into isolated hands together were they will pass chips back and forth. It's surprising how often you see it happen, but usually it's never the same 2 people doing it on that many tables. My theory is that if they are so bad at poker they have to resort to cheating, that ultimately they'll go broke anyways, just at a slower rate.

In the midst of all the action, it can sometimes be easy to misconstrue what people are doing, so it's best not to just wildly fire off accusations. But as Fcumred said, a quick sharkscope can shed lot's of light on a sketchy situation. I've seen lot's of colluders get busted, through the dilligence of the players. It's sad that we have to police ourselves, especially since poker rooms are supposed to have special teams formed JUST to catch this kind of thing.

I remember a thread on 2+2 once, were a group of players fought for several months, after doing exhaustive research and providing it to a poker room. It took the room MONTHS to do anything about it, and the entire time the players suspected were allowed to continue playing. Ultimately they WERE caught, and the players that were cheated got their money back. Who know's if all players got refunded or not, and how many other people just fly under the radar.

Heck, the reason Stars stopped doing dons, is primarily because of chinese colluding rings. There's another thread out there that's hundreds of pages long discussing that one.

The thing that REALLY pisses me off, is sites like FT and stars now actively block sites like sharkscope from datamining them, unless players opt in. It makes it that much harder to catch people now. To me blocking sites like SS and PTR makes no sense. It's sites that sell HH that should be shut down, not tracking sites that in no way offer HH for sale.

That sounds more like a tactic than collusion. They don't want to fight each other before they get rid of you being the small stack. Nothing wrong with that. If you saw it turn it to your advantage.

I SS'd them. I doubt they're colluding, since the 1 guy only has 8 games he lost in, and the other has a few hundred games and seems legit. 11% ROI is around average for sngs. I'd be concerned if either or both had a suspiciously high ROI, but that's not the case here.

well first of they were obviously not in collution before the game or talking over the phone or skype.
I can say this because if they were they would not of had to type in the chat box to split it 50/50.

I used to play in tournaments online where players would agree to split the winning between them and it was NOT considered cheating.
In fact there are tournaments on party where they actually promote and encourage it. The winner also gets a little more but other then that any split goes.

Sorry but it does not sound like they was cheating. I have been there and on both ends of that stick.
It just makes sense for to stacks to work on taking out another. It happons in every tournament I have ever played in and I think it always will.

Sorry mate it is just my opinion.

Just curious, did you post in the FT forums back in the day? Your name sounds so familiar.

well you emailed the support- that's the end of story really- they will take a look at the situation & take the decision, whatever they decide you will just have to accept that. anyways even if they were not colluding, it's still nice that you took action- it doesn't cost anything to contact support, and you never know what decision they will ultimately make

Other than email the full tilt poker support there is really nothing else what you could do about it unfortunately...

They can do a lot more searches than you could think and take a decision about them.

in 9 man is more difficult to find collusion bettwen people - if you find on a 9 man table 6 russions - 2 germans and you also you will think that is a collusion there?

first you have to find them playing same tables in row , after that you can contact the support make some print screens etc . and thats all
