Lately im having problems with the BRM site. Many times it takes too long to load and others is down for several minutes. Last night it was more than twenty minutes that i couldnt connect to the site. I used three sites to see if it was my problem only, and the answer i was getting was, its not only you Maybe something you need to take a look at.
That 20 mins plus downtime last night was between 23:20-23:50 GMT

aye funny enough Mober,when i logged in last night it took a while before the page loaded on my pc,i thought it was mine but obviously not,it took 2-3 minutes to load and once i was in it ran alright.

Night between Friday and Saturday our server is doing backup so there's a time while BRM is unavailable for the backup program to take a complete backup of the database without any changes made during backup.
Besides that, traffic is much higher at the moment because of our Christmas Calendar.

I hadnt problems with loading bankrollmob page anytime. Hmm is here really that big traffic that it can slow down a page? Approximately how much active users are here? I dont see many in forums

I've noticed this to. Now it makes sense since admin explained what could be going on with their backing up. I would shutdown all other programs running or my music and everything to speedup the processing and it never worked. There's also times when it takes a bit for a thread or comment to post. Nothing detrimental though and nice to know what's going on.

This server is almost 7 years old and hosted a long way from most of our members (not back then, but today it is), so it's not that fast. We have another and new server ready placed in Europe, but we won't move the site during the Christmas promotion because of the extra visits and in case sometihng goes wrong etc., but hopefully very soon in 2013. No idea how well it will run though but surely some things must be faster.

I managed to get the time when you are taking the back up, which is something reasonable and i didnt know at all about it. But it is also true that some times it takes to long to load the page. Good thing though that you have scheduled a hardware upgrade.
