You are deluding yourself mate. You are like the alcoholic who claims he can drive better when hes had a few drinks.

You are simply trying to justify your pot addiction with any excuse you can think up. You are not alone in this kind of cruch thinking sadly enough. There are players who go to WSOP and say they MUST have at least 2 alcoholic drinks an hour to play well. Ever wonder how many of them have ever made a final table.
I apologize if my reply has upset you but your question and justification have really offended me. I am surprised as I can not actually remember the last time someone has managed to do that. I guess it has something to do with the idea that such action put poker into a negative light with most people and I HATE anything which tarnishes pokers image.

Well I used to get through over an ounce a week, and did do for eighteen years, but haven't touched it for around two years now. For me there seems to be absolutely no difference to my poker playing, cognitive skills or life in general without weed. Everything is exactly the same.

Two points.
1. Marijuana is not addictive (I should know see above for how long I used it and how much I got through)
2. Even if it were addictive, saying that someone has an addiction just because they use a substance is an incredibly offensive and ill thought out assumption to make. After all most people that use alcohol aren't addicted.

I must stand withzeroster on this as I to know mariuana is not addictive. I used to smoke the best green bud one could produce. Green as a bullfrog and sticky as glue.
I can't say whether it would have an effect on how I play poker since I quit myself a couple of years back. I will state that I am a degreed Engineer and was on the Dean's List / Honor student while working and going to school during the years I used it. Not saying it assisted me in doing well in school, but I'm saying it didn't hold me back.

I appreciate everyone's replys so far I believe I play better but also aint clean for long enough to know the difference lol on the fact of addictive it's not I just love too much to let go at this point if I had to quit im sure it would'nt be a problem. have fun at the tables either way stoned or straight!

i have smoked for more than 15 yrs straight, have worked all my life and never taken welfare. many would be seprised at how wide spreed marajuana is in the perfesional workforce. I have never really played poker straight in the 4 yrs iv played the game n feel i am relaxed and where i need to be at the tables. im thinking bout New Year Reserlution so will see how we feel at the tables in the new year..
