PokerStars joined forces with the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) recently in a charity effort PokerStars' part of the deal was to supply a mountain of hoodies, jumpers and other items of clothing for those without power or a proper place to stay warm this Christmas. Armed with the boxes of free merchandise, the PPA's Drew Lesofski then travelled to New Jersey to personally to meet with local charities and distribute the items.

This is verry fine. Stars is biggest poker room and it is verry important for charity events and promotions to do a lot. A good idea was a big tourney event with all pros for a christmas charity event.

yeah that's true- any big company has to give something to charity: there many ways to get rid of your cash, many great projects around & ultimately being "a giving company" in the eyes of your customers is a positive thing. hard to count if it's profitable or not in the long run, but not everything is measured in cold cash

Well they are one of the companies which making big profits. So it would be a sin not to give something to the needy such days. And that of course goes for all with deep pockets.

I agree that it is a big company which is ruling the poker industry !!
This charity is a must to maintain their status and in turn it is also an advertising technique and also creating a good platform for them to establish in a more stronger way !!
so my concern is whatever charity they are doing most reach the needy people but not to some high profile events ..
