PokerStars Sunday Storm Tips  +1
Personally, when i start off with 5000 chips in any MTT it has already provided enough fold time to make it to at least level 5-10 without making a movie at all... you will see endless amouts of people ""CALL OFF, Donk off, bluff off or waste their whole tourney life with Khi, Arag and miss played small pairs...i have got to top 300 iin the Sunday Storm ""shaqelle1" on PokerStars.. and placed multiple times... i like to play this 11 direct buy in .. as it is the biggest 11$ weekly tourney in the world..
Also a great tourney is the 100Seat Sunday million 11$ direct buy in.. it is the weakest 11$ field to get into the Sunday million (the biggest 215$ in the world) look for it right after the STORM starts...

I play a couple $1.10 buyin MTT's that start off with 5000 chips and usually place in the money 50% of the time. There's usually 200+ players, but before late registration is over it's down to about 125 players.
Anyway I agree it's pretty hard to blow off 5000 chips in a short period of time, but I watch them do it every time I play.

G'day mate
I think what you just said is 100% correct. people will chase after just about anything. It seems they are desperate to double up there chips and willing to risk everything in the hopes of doing so.
Many players just have not learned to be calm and patient. These two virtues along with some self control will take a poker player a long way in any tournament.
I wish all mobsters the very best.
Good luck at the tables and my the rest of your holidays be GREAT!

Hiya all. I must agree with both of you and say that I try to only play 3 hands in the first 8 levels of these tournaments. Namely AA, KK and AK suited. I have even folded Queens and later regretted it but it works for me. I must say that sometimes the opportunities to double up in the early stages of these tournaments are numerous. As you both have said some people just don't believe their 9's can be beaten.

I think Ronin has summed me up perfectly, I am trying to learn patience but I would describe my style as "Hyper-aggressive" and find it difficult to fold sometimes.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all mobsters for their advice which has helped my poker game improve over the last year and hope to improve more over the next year again.

Thanks to you all..................GL in the future both on and off the turf!!
