Party poker changed their policy on settling cancelled tournaments  0
Last week the party poker server crashed, just as my 1 point qualifier tournament was all but finished.

There was a 25 ticket prize pool, with 26 players left. I was comfortably in 8th place, and the smallest stack had just 486 chips left with blinds at 20000/40000 and an ante of 4000. How close can you get...

Then the server crashed, and all tournaments were cancelled (not just this one).

Until recently PP settled these matters quickly and correctly (just last month 2 freeroll MTTs, after just a couple of hands played, crashed, and were settled), but not anymore.

I contacted support, and it seems any non-real-money buyin tournaments are simply cancelled without settlement, nowadays.

They told me that I got my 1 party point buyin back, but I can't be sure.

Anyway, I'm not all that bothered about it, but I thought it makes a nice "how close can you get?" story...

If you lead a money buy-in tourney is not the best solution to get your buy-in back because you had the real chance to reach FT.
A freeroll is not different because it is not your fault and you gave your time and probably played for hours for nothing.

This is verry hard, you had a big chance for the 25$ ticket at the 8th place. Was it a server problem fom party? Party Points are a part of the rakeback and its the same like "real" money.

Good day everyone Smile
Hello marqis Smile

That is truly sick that the server crashed when you had a good run !! it's just bad luck !!
the 1 party point is not the concern but the 3 hard hours you toiled to reach that position was wasted !! time is important ... Hope your luck changes in the coming year Smile

A very happy new year Smile
Good luck at the tables Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

This merger with Bwin was to much for their servers. And the support service was lame before the merger.
Party cancelled 5 winning bets after 1 month, live bets.Talk to them by chat,e-mails,send them links about statistics of the game and nothing Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

That is pretty crappy of them, it's pretty unfair if you've been playing a game for hours (freeroll or not) and then not be compensated for your input. What difference does it make to them?! They were obviously willing to distribute the prize(s) already.

That sucks.

It does suck a bit, but I don't care too much about the prize; I'll still count it as an 8th out of 1599 finish.

The way I see it, PP has been good to me overall, since all I ever do is leech of them...

I do however think changing policy like that could infuriate people, especially with the increase in software issues as of late (which IMO if a far more serious problem than this policy change).
