Gus Hansen questioning the community  0
Gus Hansen e questioned the poker community's dislike of Howard Lederer.
In a tweet, Gus wrote: "Do people hate Howard Lederer because of evidence of foul play or because Daniel Negreanu and Jason Mercier tell everybody to hate him?"
The question touched a nerve with many players and within a matter of hours a forum thread emerged with a range of conflicting views.
While some players agreed that Gus had valid point, the majority disagreed with his sentiment.

I guess a lot of players hate Lederer (and Fergusson,...) because they lost a lot of money when FT went belly up. Those were the faces of the company, and it is only natural, that they catch the Flak.

That question comes a bit late imo and therefore it's close to ridicule to even pose it, at least in those terms. The guy at this stage is already a convicted criminal ( even thou he might avoid jail go figure) so are we, even the ones that were not affected by is actions, supposed to like him? Coz of his charismatic smile maybe.

My understanding is that Howard, et al, were mis-using company funds as personal funds and worse still, using player funds as company funds (i.e: they weren't segragated as their license indicated they should have been).

my understanding is that his actions were not only immoral, but criminal.. Unless I am drastically mistaken in my understanding, this seems like a really strange thing for Gus to say Confused

hmm that is kind of stupid question for me. I didnt expect from Gus Hansen something like that. Even I dont know too much about this case, I guess many people lost their money there, and they dont need Daniel Negreanu or anybody else to explain it to them...

G'day Mobsters

Well I must agree that I do NOT need Gus or any other poker player what to think about this issue.
I personal own several of Howard Lederer's poker DVD's and I respect his skill as a player.
However, I also dislike the immoral and criminal things he did while he was involved with fulltilt.
I personal feel that he should have made a real apology to the players who his actions hurt.
He has NOT do so. In fact he does not think he did anything wrong.
His arrogance and uncaring attitude sickens me.
I respect him as a player with skill, but find him to be lacking in character and basic human decency.
No one had to tell me to feel that way. It was his actions which lead me to this point.

Good luck to you all.

Prety weird tweet if you ask me, as we all know he is currently a full tilt poker pro under the new management of Pokerstars.

I think if he continue to post about this matter we could see him leave FTP. I think it's impossible for someoen to think that Ledered has nothing to do in the FTP deal.

Seems to me that Gus Hansen was inside of the fraud, or he other side he would shut up his mouth and see the evidence that Lederer used the players funds for his fancy life!

i feel that i don't have enough facts to like/dislike or hate lederer or any other involved in full tilt ponzi scheme...there's a lot of info floating around, but i feel there's a lot of important info that's hidden behind the chinese wall...

If we take what is being said about him, i mean what he was doing while Full Tilt was up and running,
do we really need to hear what Negreanu has to say in order to form an opinion?
