Congrats anyway - while the money is certainly the most important factor - there is also a certain kick for coming 1st - and that doesn't change whether it is $3 or $3,000; it's always an awesome feeling to bink it..
It's a such a good accomplishment in a whole set of poker skills: Tournaments offer it all - deep stacked play (early on), short stacked play- later on, the final table is like a SNG and involves a whole different way of playing once it becomes short-handed and of course to come first you also need to master the Heads Up final battle.. So winning a tournement is always a great feeling that you just can't get from winning a hand on a cash table or even winning a SNG.. It's such an epic feat.
And since it WAS a freeroll, even though it was only $3, freerolls usually have pretty huge fields - and even if they are full of donks n fish, it's still an impressive thing to take 1st place in a large-field event.
So congrats to you and I hope you can bink something bigger ( ) in the near future !

It doesn't matter that it was small! What matters is it feels great to win and to have fun and win is even better. You'll get the big one down the road and until then congratulations on this win. I like to read about players who are enthusiastic about their wins, big or small.

Congrats to you mate.
I love to here that a mobster took a tournament down in 1st place. Do not worry about the money amount. Enjoy the wonderful feeling you only get from placing first. Freerolls are always a large field and filled with lunatics and donks alike. Great job and keep on enjoying the game. If you play for the love of the game then you are always a winner in my opinion. Good luck at the tables.

a win is a win- and no matter what u win it's always sweet great job. however i wanted to point out the luck factor in mtt's- you can win only 1 mtt in your life and that might be wsop me for coll $10 mil or so, or you can win 20 mtt's for a total of $50 or so...it pays to be in the right place at the right time

yeah, it's always great to take a tourney down. even if second place is a couple of hundred dollars i'm always a little bit gutted that i never won. so the money is nice but the win is amazing.

Like others have already said finishing first in a tournament no matter what the prize is, is always rewarding in many ways. One of the most important is the experience you are getting from the final table and the HU. Good luck to you in the future tournaments
