Sunday Storm Deal  0
Sometimes a final table deal can work against a player, but sometimes it banks them more cash than they expected.
One player who certainly has superior negotiation skills is "Mojje87".
Having waded through more than 38,000 players to reach the finale Sunday Storm on PokerStars, the Swedish grinder managed to take home more than the advertised top prize.
With just five players left the tournament was paused and, after assessing the numbers, the remaining contestants were happy to give more than $28,000 to "Mojje87".
An additional $6,000 for the eventual winner meant a dominant display from "Mojje87" would net him a total of $35,635; which was over $4,000 than the winner was scheduled to get.
Predictably "Mojje87" won the event and on top of taking home more money than everyone expected, he earned over $21,000 more than second place finisher: "xArcibaldsx".

deals are for those who feel they cant win the tournament i think. If i enter a tourney i play to win regardless if making a deal guarantees a bit more money i would rather take the whole top prize or lose out on the percentage because that first prize money is what drives you to try your hardest to play better

it all depends on the situation.. bankrollstatus...

can be a number of things , why i should accept a deal...but being chipleader i'll always try to delay any deal...let 1 more burst out,, then re-evaluate a deal..

well suppose you are at a final table with 5 other players :

pl.1 10.500 chips
pl.2 11.225 chips
pl.3 9.800 chips
pl.4 8.647 chips

ok you are player 4 or 5..you may chose...

prizetable

102.9k Dollar
75.5k Dollar
55.5k Dollar
42.2k Dollar
29.3k Dollar
_____ +
300 Dollar

devided by 5 is around 6oK each if by making a deal,,,al money would be devided eaqualy..

Some tournaments wich are not turbo and everybody is very deep stacked ...everybody at finaltables realizes it can still last for hours untill 1 bust out....

in these situations ,also as the tourney is already busy for 10 or more hours ,people might get very tired and close a deal very easy ,,instead of dropping out first ,although chipleader or 2nd in chips..

ive railed tourneys ,where deals have been made ,and i know in that situation ,i'dd also exept a deal..(was also f.kng tired myself Smile )

That guaranteed Dollar Dollar Dollar always Thumbs Up

G'day mate

I have been in several tournaments where people wanted to make a deal and I have NEVER done a deal. I play to win and in general the deals I have seen never work to my advantage so I say to heck with them and go for the win.
Good luck to you all

no ucallhmi ur wrong you say that if the prize money divided by 5 = 60k each, that isnt correct is it, before you divide the prize money you must nearly always take say 20k out of the prize money for the actual winner, it says so in the tournament lobby look next time especially on stars, the remainder will be put to any deal to the 5 runners left at ft

G'day mates

I have seen several final table deals made. I can honestly say that they just left me shaking my head in wonderment. Each time the player in 1st place gave up a significant portion of his winnings to the smaller short stacked players to get them to agree and end the bloody tournament.
I though it was absolutely a stupid thing to do.
The only thing I could figure was the guys in the top 3 places were just plain tired and wanted to go to bed. I think they should have sucked back some coffee and crushed the smaller idiots together then the top 3 make a proper deal of just finish the tournament properly.

good luck at the tables.

Well making deals is just a part of playing poker in big MTT.

Maybe it s usefull to follow some lessons in making pokerdeals....

You can be chipleader at a table of 3 or 4 , but this does not mean you ll win the torney...

So I think I could accept a good deal when I am in such a position.

G'day mate

I think the last line of your post is the most important.

"I think I could accept a good deal when I am in such a position."

If it was indeed a good deal then of course why not but from what I have personal seen in the past the deals are very rarely a good deal over all. I am not saying they do not happen but i think they are the exception and not the norm.

We be cool and good luck at the tables.

Well i think deals are made to make things faster! We all know that final tables puts everybody much more concentred and very tight! To avoid this kind of things they make deals are after that everybody plays more loose cause they all know that with the deal they will cash some money! Sometimes it becomes really stressing that the final tables takes hours to end!

Well in a deal you always have winners and loosers....

It just the question : how strong is your position in which you are making the deal and how confident are you that you can use that strong position to win....

especially when there are about 4 or 5 players left anything can happen ....

if you are the chip leader i donțt think it s a good ideea to make a deal .... you may lose alot of money. If you are the lowest on chips , yeah a deal it will be in your advantage if you think can t take a better place ... and this is the first time ive ever hear about a deal that some1 took more money than was supose without a deal, cause that means the rest of them got less money .... like 2nd and 3rd position ....

I would agree that general specking the chip leader will always lose out in any deal made since they are primarily the ones who have the most to lose in order to get the others happy about making a deal. I have never seen a deal in which the person in 1st place walked away with more profit but thats just me.

Be cool mates.
