Hi ya

I have read you post and the first thing that came to my mind was - How much does he play? What is his style? In fact there are so many questions I could ask it would be impossible for me to list them all.

My suggestion to you is to look at previous posts in the poker forum, specifically ones with titles such as "How would you play this/ that"? Or "Did I do wrong"? and you will find different opinions on situations which have happened to all of us. This will increase your knowledge and understanding on how people play. There is different styles of play and some would say other styles are wrong or right, they're not. You need to find a style that suits you, you are the most important person at a table, after all you are the one paying to be there and you are the one who decides what hands to play and what hands to fold.

So as I say, you play whatever suits you. I guarantee you one thing follow this forum, follow the advice you will be given and it will make you a better player by this time next year, what is a year when you can have fun and make money in the process.

GL to you on and off the felt....................... Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

G'day mate

First off if you a currently not a positive money making player then do not quit your day job.
Okay poker in your spare time and try to learn as much as you can. You can treat it as a second job for awhile and work at becoming a profitable player who can make a steady second income with it.
Keep track of your cash out amounts and once you are making twice what your bills are for a month three stright months then you can think about quiting your day job.

good luck to you.

Good Day everyone Smile
A very happy new year too.. Smile

First of all i would suggest you to quit poker for sometime and find a job , in your spare time you can master the game by all the resources you can find off ... so its better you have a job, when you are comfortable with poker you can always quit it ..

Good luck at the tables Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

The boom years for poker are over. Most of the players that still remain know, at least half way, what they are doing. So it is difficult for a new player to be successfull. There are less fish to feast upon.

Well, if I read this , the first thing that cam eup to me was :

I ve deposited a few times (which means you loose money) and then the thought of quiting a dayjob.

My advice here :

1. be realistic and keep your dayjob.
2. start playing poker as a hobby, and try to do it profitable : start with 50$ or 100 $ and try to win money (with a good bankrollmanagement) ---> check monthly your winnings vs your starting capital

If you play regurlarly your bankroll should increase ... if not this means your poker strategy is NOT OK ... so you need strategy training.

TIP : Could be worthy to learn more about fixed hold m --> lot s of players there on low limits that make wrong turn and river calls, this is profitable if you play with correct pot odds.

3. think twice before quitting your dayjob, if you are a good player you will earn nice amounts doing it after work.

Success in 2013

It seems you don't understand the game as good as you think you do if you are not on profit yet...

Now i can't tell you what you are doing wrong without seing you playing but the BRM forum is here you we can always discuss some of your hands Smile

Better thing to do is have a real job, while trying to figure out if you are able
to make a living out of poker or not.
You wont have the same time available, but at least you will have your donkey tied up Smile

i have a feeling you want poker to become your day job- if it is so, then imo just stick with your current day job & spend your free time on poker- when/if you are constantly winning enough to cover your bills- you're one of those cool guys who can truly call themselves poker pro's. good luck Thumbs Up

i liked one tip i received in this forum- if you like to be a good poker player- find a good one & rail him for a while, see how he's handling various situation, if it's possible, find him on a final table, when you get to see him playing with everyone's cards open...it's pretty much like if you want to be a good businessman/athlete/porn star- just learn from the best
