Viktor "Isildur1" Blom might have finished as one of 2012's biggest losers, but at the start of 2013 he's already started redressing his negative balance.
With the year barely 24 hours old, Blom managed to win $564,546 over the course of 1,536 hands.

The haul put him almost $400,000 ahead of the day's second biggest profit maker: Alex "Alexonmoon" Luneau ($177,588).

The player feeling the brunt of Blom's rampage was Alexander "PostflopAction" Kostritsyn.

The Russian player grinded through 844 hands before ending his session with a loss of $570,116.

Also dropping money yesterday was: Eugene "FishosaurusREX" Yanayt (-$139,181), Kyl "KPR16" Ray (-$106,022) and "GOD OF AWESOME" (-$76,944).

500k is nothing when we are talking about Isildur, but he def need to change tons in his play if he wants to be on plus...

Since all high stakes pro are playing limit 2-7 triple draw we should expect some huge swings, those games have huge variance!

G'day mates

Man why cant we all have started our 2013 with that kind of a positive start. It would really go a long way to shutting up people about my wasting my time playing online poker again.
These people know my past success but think every minute I am playing poker instead of writing my books is a waste of my time and I think the believe their time as well.
I have literally been told to get my darn finished so the cash machine can start churning us out money.
I like how he said "Us money". He really showed me his true intent there.
I love poker and I enjoy playing the game.
I know I can pay my bills from playing poker both online and live. Keeping my bills paid is NOT a waste of my time in my opinion.
I would love a big win to shut some people up Smile

Well Mobsters let all make 200K this month Thumbs Up we will set the gambling world on fire Thumbs Up

Be cool and GREAT luck at the tables.

G.Hansen lost $4M when making the year accounting, and then we look at Blom winning $500k (which equals 1/8 of Hansen’s losses) in a single session, so $4M is not that much for the amount these guys play. Blom won’t be always summing, but if he happen to make 8 similar sessions, he would have enough to pass Hansen’s losses and he would even be better than 2012’s best winner, who didn’t got to win $4M.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's positive start took a knock yesterday, as he saw $116,896 disappear from his bankroll over the course of just 235 hands.
That figure was enough to leave him atop of the losers' leaderboard, just ahead of "1Mastermind" who dropped $100,712.

G'day mate

I must agree that he really does not impress me much. He is just a guy with to much money and so was able to play at the higher levels right from the start. If he was like most players who do not have his bankroll no one would have heard of him because his play style would left him in the obscurity of the micros.
I might be wrong but who knows.

Be cool mates

The story of Isildur1 is not a big secret and i have to give some credit to RoninHarper, he is on minus on both big poker sites.

As for Gus Hansen i think he is on tilt right knowm still on Full Tilt Poker he is on minus 7 million dollars overall Shock

He might not be going to the PCA this year but that doesn't mean Viktor "Isildur1" Blom is keeping a low profile.
Indeed, over the last few days he's banked over $1 million at the virtual felt.
Since the start of 2013 Blom has been crushing his opponents and in the last 24 hours he managed to bank $696,435.
That win put him firmly atop of the day's high stakes leaderboard and took his overall winnings since the start of the year to $1,144,085.

I wondering that the high stakes players are often have a lot of bad runs , like the ft pros in the past and so ask me: where are the real winning player? And i mean not the lucky one tourney winner. In all forums i read about suckouts and long time broken players, but never about long time winning player...

The long time winning players are usually the ones crying about the bad beats.

the fishy losing players dont understand what bad beats are, they see it as unlucky.

the winnining players understand the principles and fundamentals and they complain when someone breaks them. (i.e. bad beat story)

I think that after the session that he played yesterday he is almost 2 millions up this year already which is pretty sick Big Smile

If i think better he was more than 2 mil up but he lost almost 200k to postflopaction on triple draw.

G'day mate

I am a bit confused by your statement since I am only playing on 3 online poker sites. The only poker site which I am currently down on is PokerStars and according to my records i am only down the incredible amount of $216. but since I am up on Fulltilt, Grinnnders I am confused about what your point is to me. I can easily go positive in just one positive session or with just one Mtt final table showing.
Please explain what you trying to tell me.

Be cool and good luck to everyone in 2013.

Update time.

the site Grrrinders is no longer up and running for cash game play. its a pity to since I had cash on that site which I guess I'll never get to cash out now,

oh well thats what happens when you when you leave the established sites and try smaller venues it a true gamble.

be cool and good luck

Blom earned himself a further $715,586 in the last 24 hours to take his 2013 total to $1,859,671.
Also making rare appearance on yesterday's high stakes chart was Brian "sbrugby" Townsend.
Having been largely absent from the high stakes scene for the past two years, Brian scooped $43,529 to finish the day as the sixth biggest winner.

So far Viktor is up 2.7 mil this year on full tilt poker, this could change since he is back on the draw games tables...

I bet that for that game there is a strategy but my feeling is that on that game luck is the most important thing indeed.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom went into yesterday's session with a mammoth profit of $2.8 million.

Beating the likes of Phil Galfond, Alex Luneau and Gus Hansen for considerable sums over the past few days has understandably boosted his confidence and that certainly showed during yesterday's action.

While a large percentage of his recent profits have been made away from the PLO tables, Blom couldn't resist sitting down with Galfond and Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky for some $400/$800 action.

Competing against two of the best PLO practitioners in the world didn't seem to worry the Swede and at the close of play he'd raked in a total of $1,356,296.

That win not only put him even further in profit for 2013, but erased his overall online loses since his screen name was first tracked.

In total, Blom has now banked $4,073,070 in 2013, which would have been enough to put him top of last year's leaderboard by almost $500,000.

G'day mates

Ok Even I have to admit that is a heck of an impressive start to any new poker year. I have never really liked or been impressed by "isildur1" but i do in all honesty admit I might be a little envious of his online success. I mean damn up over 4 million in just 9 days is just impressive.

I gotta wish him continued success. But i do not gotta like him. Smile

Be cool mates and me we all have good luck on the poker sites we play on.

You are wrong mate, he lost 4.2 million dollars in just one session, not over 9 days...

I remember i was watching a tracking site that day and when i checked out he was like 3.5 mil down already and i thought it was a sytem glitch lol

G'day mate if you read the post just above mine from Sorin888 it says that Blom is up over 4 million so far in 2013. It is that information I was posting my response too. If that is in fact not the case then I apologize since I do not personally follow Blom's stats.
I still say however that it would be a GREAT start to any mobsters poker year Smile

Be cool and good luck at the tables.

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom suffered his first loss of 2013.

Over the course of 2,008 hands the Swede gave back $509,563 to the likes of Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky.

Indeed, it was Sulsky who finished atop of the high stakes leaderboard in the last 24 hours, thanks to 889 hand session worth $392,779.

While the win wasn't enough to put him back in the black for 2013, it should help boost his confidence in the current climate.

Also adding to his bankroll yesterday was Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene ($125,692) who now boasts a profit of more than $600,000 in 2013.
