PCA 2013 Main Event: Patrick Kelly Leads Final 59

Another day has come to an end at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and Patrick Kelly (1,750,000) is leading the tournament with only 59 remaining players. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi failed to make it through the day, but his brother Robert survived with 783,000 chips. But did The Grinder got at least to the paid places, guaranteing $15k? If he did, at least all that work wasn't in vain. I'm sure that pros like him already don't count on what his brother can take home to wait for an extra reward from that tourney, that only happens when we are amateurs and play for a lot less money. Perhaps if his brother takes the first place he can get some extra stack, but only in that case! Big Smile

Knowing that you have a guaranteed 26k should ease up the pressure on most of the remaining field since you more than doubled up the entry fee already. Lets see what will the final table turn out to be. Whatever is the result those guys are already having some nice vacation in the Caribbeans, watching the babes sun bathing, drinking cocktails and stuffing the bank accounts at the same time. the bastards!

Danchev Seizes Chip Lead; Eliminates Kelly
Dimitar Danchev opened to 40,000 from under the gun plus one. Ryan Fair called from the hijack and Patrick Kelly peeked at his cards from the cutoff. Kelly three-bet to 202,000, only to see Danchev come right back over the top for 460,000 after about 90 seconds. Fair threw his hand away and Kelly flat called.

The two saw T♥Q♥7♣ fall and Danchev continued for 360,000. Kelly then announced that he was all in. Danchev was in utter agony and mulled over the decision for more than three minutes. Eventually he called and learned he was well ahead.

Danchev: K♥K♣
Kelly: 7♠6♠

The turn was the 2♣ and the river the 2♦, ensuring that Danchev's kings held. He will now be the chip leader going into Day 5 with around 4.1 million in chips.
Dimitar Danchev 4,100,000 1,830,000
Patrick Kelly 0 -2,100,000

Thanks for the update, Sorin, this shows once again that no matter if you have a big stack everything can change in a matter of hands...

If i remember correctly this is one of the biggest participation on PCA, that got to be one of the reasons for which the prizes are so consistent.
