HI ADMIN - I HAVE AN IDEA !!!!!  +2
I have a suggestion for you. After looking at the "BRM" freeroll on FTP and the current "BRM" leader board freerolls on PS can you not change the way we as BRM members enter for them. I have seen on both these sites that some freerolls are restricted, either by country or some other qualifying standard. It seems to me that the simple thing to do would to provide PS or FTP, (or perhaps as they are technically the same company), with a list of approved persons.

As a poker site I would be happy to accommodate any such request, which they already do for other customers, and it would not take much time to program from their point of view.

It would involve you putting the list together for them, but I expect you probably have most of the info already? Is this possible? Please help us out, as I don't know about others but this situation really pisses me off sometimes.....................

Let us know if you can arrange this or if you need any help admin wise I could lend you a few hours a day............................ Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Thanking you anticipation................... Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

That list could be changing by the hour as new people sign up with BRM. Totally unworkable IMHO.

This has been talked about quite a few times before on the forum and its been said that not a lot can be done about it. I wish it could tho because it really pisses me off too.
I've been having a good crack at the leader board this time around and find it pretty frustrating at times.
Good luck with this Thumbs Up

aye that sounds like a right good idea Marcwinz, something really should be done about password thieves as they are robbing all the legit members of chances of winning or gaining entry to a tourney.
i would never even think about entering a tourney if i was not a member of said tournament poker forum.

Although it is one of the most logical methods I've heard as for putting some type of authorization or practice in place to prevent the non-members from being able to play the BRM Freerolls. Zeroster makes a good point about new members joining daily.

My whole take on this is, BRM probably don't mind these stray players getting in these Freerolls since it probably promotes BRM just like an advertisement to get more people to join or they would have put something in place a long time ago.

One other point though! By BRM implementing something like your talking about would also promote growth for the site. I mean then they'd have to join BRM in order to play these Freerolls.

I don't think it's in BRM's interest at all to allow non-members to play. They have shown in the past that they don't agree with password posting and I genuinely think they are trying to cut it out. But sending lists to poker sites also has it's faults with many members failing to get registered and sending complaints to BRM staff who then have to contact the site. Also the lists of eligible players are probably quite big and collecting user names from all interested members is probably a lot of hassle.

It boggles the mind that so many of these passwords appear on freeroll sharing sites but these will often be in competition with BRM. Whist the poker lobby is good advertising sending these freeroll hunters to this site, these password stealing sites are not sending traffic here at all. It would be ideal for BRM if in order to claim your prize you had to prove your affiliation to the site as then these freerolls really would be adverts.

I don't know if any poker site would agree to it, but if the winners of the freerolls had to type in a second password to obtain the winnings, they would presumably follow the link here rather than check back in the freeroll sharing site, and whilst this would not appease existing brm members who want the freerolls to themselves, it would retrospectively help brm to advertise their free moneys to freeroll hunting cheap skates.

I've just thought of another way. Why not have freerolls without $ but with points? And the points add upto leaderboard places? So the only way your going to get paid is if you actually have a brm account and place on the leader board! Then there would be more money for the leaderboard places and more money for the freeroll for the top 200.
Surely that could be do-able. Then people wouldnt want to steal the PW because they can't win any money.

I suggested this over a year ago but it was rejected. I don't remember why but I do remember there was a good reason for it.

i think the easiest method of doing this- is to organize those freerolls at home games club. club manager and admins (any brm members that would want to lend a hand) would just scan the application from members who want to join the club- and accept only those who are real brm members. problem fixed- no passwords, no tracking, no tickets needed. just log in go to your home games club and play the tourney. and you even have leaderboard which updates automatically

Oh well! what can you do then? I've seen some very do-able solutions but if admin wont go for any of them then i guess we just have to put up with all the password stealing arseholes and put up with the fact that good BRM money is going to these scumbags!

good luck on and off the felts all Thumbs Up

Hi all. I am glad that you all have voiced an opinion and I hope there are more to come.

I have quoted Pochui and from what I see this could be the best way forward. There are plenty of mobsters on this site, (Me included), who would put in the time and effort on behalf of the site.

Let us know what you think please Tony. Get your heads together at BRM HQ and let us know the pitfalls of each and every suggestion. That way we can put this to bed once and for all.

Thanks and GL on and off the felt....................... Worship Worship Worship Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

I'll think this is a great idee, and could work too.
Pochui already got a homegame so maybe he could organisch this(don't now if he wants to do this).

He made a christmasch freeroll and that was a succes.

Just think about it, please.

the problem is people dont have to be active on the forum to be a member of this site, so most people would get left out.

All members can be informed of the sign up procedures through Mob Mail and notes in the lobby. No different than signing up at a new site. This discussion has been ongoing since I first joined and it hasn't changed yet. Smile

same here- i really think brm have no wish to change the situation, unless this changes there is no point in offering any ideas. did u see admin commenting on this thread/ ideas, i didn't...did he spot the thread- pretty sure he did...this pretty much answers it

pochui,

These threads appear so often that most regulars in here know what to answer in them. So I don't bother answering all of them.

We have talked this over internally and with PokerStars a few times and right now there is no other way of doing it, that is acceptable to all parties. So it is as it is, we can only suggest that people don't play the freerolls if they are not happy with the current setup Smile

don't get me wrong- i have no problems with the setup, actually i don't even remember when i played one for the last time... probably threads appear so often, because we have a lack them, it's becoming increasingly hard work to gather 50 mobpoints on a daily basis Shock

I found a pretty nice solution!

Maybe admin/management would think about option, that new member would be able to play freerolls after some period - eg. week or something. It will be similar to the play in calendar. Members are able to play calendar after some time and verification (if I remember correctly). So even updating list to PS will be not too difficult...

I've stopped play freeroll, when the entrants number exceed 2500 and most of them are random users , who aren't members of BRM...

Good day everyone Smile
Some things are very easy to say or express but putting it into reality is really hard ... so we must adjust with the thing the way it is !!! it would really be great if only brm members made use of the incentives given by the brm but unfortunately it aint happenning ... well this thread contains some serious suggestions to consider to avoid the spam .. !! l

Good luck at the tables Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
