Table Ninja  +1
So, I've been playing a LOT of hyper SNG satellites on Stars lately, generally: I am doing quite well.

Playing 10+ tables gets a little messy, trying to continue registering and playing at same time, so I figured Table Ninja is probably a pretty good way to go..

I installed it this morning and started the 30 day trial, with the intention of buying it with some profit by the end of the 30 days.

So far I would say I am pretty impressed - I've set the table opener and it works pretty well, since I play hypers where the starting stack is only 10bb I pretty much only ever need to use "allin" and "fold". Except late game where there is a matter of checking and calling to check-down boards where it's on the bubble and somebody is allin.. So I've set hotkeys for all these actions..

So it's pretty good - basically I click start on Table Ninja and from there all my tables open for me and I never need to use my mouse as all my actions are binded to a,s,d,z,x,c,v keys.

There seems to be a table focus problem: Occasionally tables lose focus and I have to back-cycle to them, it's a little annoying but not too frequent to be game killer. The other thing I've noticed is I've ticked an option for 'auto click bet' basically meaning if I choose 'all in' it's done on a single action: I don't have to set the amount and click to bet it, which is great, but sometimes this doesn't work and I have to tap the hot key a few times for it to happen and occasionally the action goes to the wrong table as I obviously hit the key one too many times !

Really frustrating thing is though, I've playing 80 games this morning, using Table Ninja and I've experienced a 25BI down-swing! Pretty crazy, I'm playing with a 150BI roll though, as the swings are a bit nuts on these hyper-turbos, still though, 25BI hurts.

So this big down swing now has me wondering whether I am doing something different in my play, using TN and Hot-Keys I can't help but wonder if I've inadvertently maladjusted my ranges or something, I'm really not sure, going to play another 50 or so today and see what happens.

------------
Arg... I played another 50 or so, I've ended up down a total of around 40BI ! That's crazy, I must have started doing something different.. One thing I can think of is before TN and Hot Keys, sometimes when we were still 10bb 'deep' I would min-raise QQ/KK/AA to induce all-ins which worked quite well, so maybe not doing that really hurt my game. Also - looking over the HH for those games today, I very rarely got dealt QQ+ and I lost most of my flips, so variance certainly played a part.. But arg.. 40BI is nuts.. I really have to figure out what I've done differently today!

Yeah, hypers are soul crushing, especially taking a big downswing like that. Just do what you're doing, and keep self studying/hand analysis.

As for the tables losing focus issue, I had the same issue, and it's actually got to do with the config in stars. Look for an option called "focus table" or something like that.

lol 40 buy-ins down- that's tough to swallow, i think if i was in a similar situation- i would take the "tested route" of raising the stakes & eventually blowing the remainder of my roll in style, then just cry on my pillow and say that poker is rigged & everyone is after me...good luck jess, sure you will not follow my advice Big Smile

This is pretty much super standard for me as well, seriously. In fact, I even did it today, these hypers were only $4 games, so was only like $160.. However afterwards I played 3 $40 hypers and luckily I won two of them lol. Then I called it quits. If I lost all 3 the rest of the roll was surely to follow!

Yeah - I figured it wasn't inherent in Table Ninja as something like that would really be a bit of a game-killer for them selling their software, didn't have a lot of time to look into it today, but it looks like there's a lot of weird things that start happening depending on various combinations of PS settings and TN settings.. and of course it never ends since both PS is always updating their software / features.. But I'll look into that, thanks for the tip.

I think my next session I'm going to play without any of the hot key stuff, just using the old bet slider like I was, so I'll only use TN to auto-reg, everything else I'll do manually, because I suspect somewhere along the line I've changed my shove/fold ranges as a result of having bound those options to the hot keys, possibly even small things like accidentally shoving/folding the wrong table as a result of focus issues etc has had a series impact, for every game I lose that should have been a win, that's 3BI since they're effectively 'triple up' games (6m satellites, top 2 get equal entrance prize).

Table Ninja seems great for multitable action, but it must be frustrating to experience that kind of errors, even in the trial version. That can make a player to opt not to buy the complete version, being afraid of experience that again after paying for the program. And, just like you said, if you take too long your option will be taken on the next table… so a player must be concentrated on that, like if it was a job and not a game, when using that tool.

I was going to suggest playing a few less games at higher stakes to see if that helped. but it was already suggested.

I just can't even imagine playing 10 games at once and being able to play decent poker. I'd like to observe the techniques, strategies and methodology used to play effectively at these levels. I guess it's based on what your poker goals are. Since I play basically for fun and if it's profitable great and if not I don't lose much since I'm not in it to make a living or even consider do so.

I wish you the best and it seem's you could go far in the poker world! Thumbs Up

Yeah definitely not exactly decent poker. However - with 6max Hyper Satellites you start with 10bb and I think 2min blind levels, with antes starting first level also. So basically - there is zero room for decent poker anyway, it's literally shove/fold mode from the very first hand. You could easily play 20+ tables like this.

To be honest, I'm kind of poker anyway, this is maybe like a last experiment / foray into it, just a grind really though - grind for profit: Attempting to make a minimal ROI while play maximum tables, I'm hoping to hit GoldStar for Jan then maybe PlatininumStar in Feb and then if it goes well, SuperNova for the year.. But I'll see, quite possibly just CBF the whole thing and go back to just playing occasionally, which is mostly what I've been doing the last six months.

It seems as if it's a decent tool but somehow it seems to mess with your game. Losing 40 BI's must sting! I wish you the best in turning this around and make a nice profit! I know you can do it! Smile
