PokerStars' fastest festival of the year came to a close yesterday with the much anticipated $2 million guaranteed Main Event. Unlike the site's other marquee events, the $700 event held the promise of a huge top prize without the usual chore of a marathon grind. Indeed, despite 5,060 players taking to the virtual felt, this year's tournament was over in just 5 hours and 11 minutes. Dwarfing last year's entrance of figure 3,667, the $2 million prizepool was comfortably exceeded and by the time seven players remained the negotiations began. Wanting a few thousand more than the $232,224 he was originally offered, TJ "1BigAceHole" Ulmer finally agreed to the deal when the other players explained they’d rather play on than negotiate further. With $40,000 still left to play for, chip leader "kekim1" continued to dominate the table along with "frma1103". This dynamic continued until "frma1103" finally clinched the title after winning a pre-flop all-in confrontation. 1st "frma1103" $326,880 2nd "kekim1" $289,509 3rd TJ "1BigAceHole" Ulmer $232,224 4th "GadMO" $251,844 5th "thinkfast9" $160,816 6th "pistecaloze" $261,354 7th "SennaBoris79" $193,068 8th "elmiami21" $42,061 9th "Xereles" $26,919

TCOOP 2013 has broken records thanks to a total of 240,321 entrants. $24 million was given away across the 50 tournaments, which is $4.5 million more than last year's event. The largest giveaway of the series came during the $700 Main Event when a total of 5,060 players (compared to 3,667 runners in 2012) generated a prizepool of $3,364,900. Topping the TCOOP leaderboard and winning a $16,500 PCA package was "Tjepan". The Danish grinder banked $79,819 after a record of 12 cashes and two final tables. Beyond individual success, Germany proved the strongest country during this year's event thanks to 3,400 total cashes and $2,140,242 in prize money.
