The ZEN poker network might finally get some peace after a turbulent few years in the poker industry.
The free-play subscription network hosted a number of poker rooms, including Jamie Gold's FreeGoldPoker, but struggled to make profit over the last three years.
Despite having a database of 750,000 players, ZEN borrowed $16 million and now faces a Chapter 11 bankruptcy ruling.
Much of their problems occurred because US regulation has failed to materialise, leaving them with a mass of potential but no real way to harness it. If their bankruptcy filing is accepted, it will allow NYX Gaming to come on board and try to find an investor.
However, if this fails the network will shut down and a buyer will be sought for the software.
