G'day mates
I have been giving alot of thought to applying for the PKR $100 sign up bonus. I would like to know honestly about PKR. Is it even worth my time? I ask because I have read post from other mobsters who say they no longer play there because of low volume. So I would like an honest assessment from mobsters who can tell me. The census on anther forum seems to indicate i would be wasting my time there.

PKR is the most fun I've ever had playing poker and you can certainly make some money there.. They offer regular reloads, 30% rakeback and the customer service there is absolutely fantastic. Cash outs are generally pretty quick too.
That said - traffic is definitely a problem and their servers aren't the best; experiencing lag during a game is pretty common and and entire games or even the whole server crashing is not unheard of either..
I think for you, being from Canada you'll experience similar problems that I do in Australia: Wrong timezone - during Canadian evening there isn't much running: The "Maple Leaf" games they run for Canadians are some of the smallest MTTs on the site, the Canadian "Open" and "Prime Time" both fill under 100, frequently only to 50-60 runners and getting a decent SNG going around that time is pretty hard also.
Cash games, fine up until about .5/1, if you play cash under these stakes you won't have a problem finding a table.
During European peak - which I believe is Canadian day-time - you'll find plenty of games of all sorts.. My main problem is that being from Aus - Euro peak coincides with 2am-8am Aus time, so pretty much the worst possible match up. Whereas, you'll have no problem finding games in Canadian morning time through to the afternoon - but Canadian evenening-night it will be pretty quiet.
It is a good room though, the community there is great.. If you enjoy table chat, it's a really active community - I've made a few good friends on the PKR MTT circuit and certainly plenty of people on PKR have regular live meet-ups and that kind of thing. So if you're keen on actually chatting with people at the tables as well as making friends, then it's a great site.
Also - most of my problems with the site come from a 'Grinder" point of view. PKR really isn't viable for people looking to play beyond 6 tables. If you only play 1-4 tables, you're probably not going to experience problems on PKR - it's got enough traffic most times of the day that you can play 1-4 tables of most stakes and game types.
My problem came from wanting to put in larger volume while 9-tabling and there just wasn't enough traffic.
EDIT: If you do sign to PKR, just make sure you take a 30% RakeBack deal - seriously, that is really important. It's REALLY hard to get a rakeback deal down the track if you don't sign with it. I made the mistake of signing to PKR in my early NDB whoring days, took a long time for me to get myself onto a proper RB dealer after joining without one.

If I sign up through the BRM $100 bonus NDB can I get the Rake back which you are specking of?
If not do you think I should forget about the BRM offer and consider just joining another route. Personal I would like to show BRM the love and join through them.
BRM offers a 30% RB offer + 125% 1st Dep bonus up to $500, so take that!
------------ Oh wait - you're talking about the NDB. No - you can't have that and RB. Rake back is sooo much better though, it's worth infinitely more than $100!
I signed up to PKR via a NDB here, like nearly 4 years ago.. To get rake back I had to start raking over $500 / Month for a few straight months and even then they put me on a shitty tiered RB deal: no rakeback for months under $500 rake 10% for >$500 15% > $1000 20% > $2K
I had to start regularly raking OVER $2,000 a month and achieve Platinum VIP status before they switched me to a flat 30% RB deal, I lost thousands and thousands in rakeback thanks to signing up via a NDB, seriously worst mistake I ever made in my whole time playing poker.
So don't be dumb like I was, take the RB offer and the 1st deposit bonus, it is worth a huge amount, the NDB offer is worth "$100" and all it is, is a limited form of RB anyway - it's like a RB deal that cuts off once you've reached $100.
