what do u expect from a freeroll- a million bucks in the prize-pool? in your case u done really well to win some cash- so u shouldn't feel disappointed. oh btw lots micro stakes poker is really a waste of time if we compare it to how much money we can realistically earn by doing our regular job.

Ive just realised the exact same thing. Iv found joining smaller sites like luckyacepoker, the freerolls there are a walk in the park compared to pokerstars and FT.

I don't play to many freerolls myself. I like playing the HORSE freeroll on Saturday and Sunday at Carbon poker, but it's not to try and win the money. I mean that's nice if and when I do place, but I like playing HORSE so I jump in to play it.
I definitely don't play the NLH Frerolls which are more frequent because of just what your saying. It's not worth my time to play for 3 hours if I would take 1st place for a mere $13.50.

When i first started playing poker 10 years ago i won a free roll. I won after beating 10,000 players $1.00 . I then used this $ in a sng and cashed in . i continue this way for three months and eventually ended up with $880.00. The fact I then got too big for my boots and lost the lot in an hour is beside the point . I didnt have to reload for 3months.

freerolls are waste of time specially if they take 5-10 hours to win better play BRM freeroll mostly takes only 5 minutes and ya out best is to reaload 10 usd and play 1usd tourneys or 2 usd ones better gameplay (not much) but at least better prizepool and maybe even worth playing 7-8 hours if finish ft

i was stalking final tables on stars (i do that a lot), and i was watching a bigger $2.20 final table, it lasted 10 hours and i personaly dont see why people woud put them through all that to spend so long in a tournament and win a small prize battling against 6000 people and not making the final table after 10 hours cashing $30. i dont play freerolls any more exept for the high value ones we somtimes get from BRM (the calander freeroll was equvalent to a $15.50 buy in), i know a lot of people say that freerols are a good way to learn but in my opinion you dont learn how to get the best value from your cards when playing for a decent stake and lose out on a lot of value. i think thats why i prefer playing tourneys on smaller sites ive come first a few times and it normally takes 4-6 hours max on PKR to win a tounament, to be fair most of the time il be ITM after 3 hours and at the final table an hour later.
------------ as for the question regarding QK, id say yes if your short stacked, no if your not

If you play big MTT (freerolls or with buy-in) you will have to play several hours to get ITM. If you hit big (top 8) you ll win a big part of the price money, otherwise you get peanuts... thats the way it goes in MTT
If you think this is to much time stick to 1-table SNG or cash tables.
If you have no bankroll and do not want to deposit , there are 3 options left :
a no deposit bonus playing freerolls stop playing poker

It's always good to play a freeroll, you just have to learn how to learn with what you see at a freeroll. Many just look at it like a bunch of nonsense gaming. Have you ever saw pros playing? I'm not saying a tv show where they only show you the best hands, i'm talking about following an entire game. No, it's not the same, with the big difference of actually seeing a lot less cards than you're used to, because they rarely reach showdown, but that's because those guys know how to do a good management of their bankrolland so they take their decisions according to evaluate the best time to rob, the best time to be aggressive and all the other moves we know. At a freeroll, many times we get what we consider good hands but we play them in a wrong way at the context of the freeroll. You have to remember you may have 72callers, so you can't risk it all with a mid hand like KQ, risking at freerolls only with high pairs, show all those rookies you're one of those who knows what you're doing at the tables!!!!
