While the settlement will end the civil case against him, some forum posters, believe Chris Ferguson could still "end up in prison or at the very least with multiple felony convictions". Follow the money DOJ!

I was thinking about who would be taking the money that Ferguson will have to pay, because it couldn’t be only the Government, since there were players that got prejudiced, but I don’t know what’s a “player repayment pool”. How will they know who have played and lost because of Ferguson? How will they decide on how much to give to each of the prejudiced players? USA courts will have a lot of work ahead with this.

Ferguson's settlement approved Chris Ferguson's civil case is now officially closed following the approval of his settlement by Judge Kimba M. Wood. Ferguson's legal deal included the submission of $2,350,000, as well as an undisclosed amount of money contained within a bank account bearing his name.
