Microgaming bad beat jackpot   0
The Microgaming Network has taken steps to reinvigorate its bad beat jackpot by implementing an innovative new system.
Using the network's "patent-pending" software, site's such as Unibet, Ladbrokes and 24hPoker will now run and "opt-in/opt-out" system across all their tables.
Before the start of each hand a player can choose to pay an extra $0.02 (regardless of the stakes they're playing) and enter into the BBJ. In addition to this, the qualifying requirements for the prize have been lowered so that if any four of a kind (using two hole cards) is beaten, you'll win.
By adopting this system network operators believe it will cause the jackpot to be hit more often as well as expand its reach. Indeed, Steven Cutler, Unibet's Head of Poker, believes the new system will "significantly enhance" their platform and "increase player satisfaction".

I think they shouldn’t keep calling this the bad beat jackpot, as everyone understands it the same way, taking in consideration many rooms have it. And people who plays lower stacks will not be paying this additional value for each hand they play, as that would increase their expenses. If someone is playing $0.02/$0.05 paying extra $0.02 every hand, he will have a lot to recover if he plays during one or two hours and in the end is even at the table. The truth is he will see his account a lot thinner than it was when he started playing just because of this BBJ commission. It may be a success among players of higher stacks, but will probably scare away all the micro regulars.

Something like so should be implemented in pokerstars also. So many players complaining of constant bad beats there that with this kind of system, they would finally start to win some money then Big Smile

Easier to win it indeed, since any four of a kind counts for it, but not sure how many micro and low limits players this will attract. If you consider that bb in micro is 0.02 and you need to put an extra 0.02 for it in each hand,
it really adds up for the specific bankrolls.
