Entered the WSOP freeroll to get to stage 2 last night 1-25 get a ticket to the next leg to win a wsop package and after sifting thru the donks early on got into the final 100 after 2hrs of play. Was short stacked for a while but managed to get up to 220k 76 people left but then disaster blinds 1/2k sat with pocket Qs on the button, cut off raises to 6.5k i reraise to 21k blinds fold cut off calls. flop not scary at all Jc 7h 4s cut off checks i et out 50k he flat calls so sat thinking as to what he could have turn come 9c so board getting scary now again cut off checks pot stands at just over 150k ive got 148k remaining its now or never i shove cut off sat there for a minute goes into his time bank then sat just on 5k moer than me calls turns over AK offsuit....RIVER Kh thats it all the hard work over with.
Not only did i get called all the way down with ace high then to get called all in and someone to leave themselves 2bb just to hit is ridiculous when will donks learn to lay down AK realising its only A high till it hits

You will see such plays from aggressive players too often. They dont care what, they will defend their hand. Like raising, reraising to allin after river with only A high Bluffers

Bad luck, my friend. Just bad luck. He had 6 outs which means 6x2=12 around 13-14% to win this pot. Which means more than 8 out of 10 times u'll win. Next time u'll be the one to win, believe me

Ofcourse many (good) aggresive players plays their AK aggresively even if they dont hit a board. They raise or reraise you... But its big difference to reraise oppponent and put pressure on him, like to call somebody who is allin already with A high on turn.. its complete donk call and its not about protecting their hand at all...

I am talking this to myself everytime when I get sucked out on river like this.. Just Today I said it to myself 5-6 times, maybe more God I am on terrible downswing last days, Poker god must hates me so much
Getting the occasional bad beat isn't too bad, just part of the game. It get get really frustrating though when you get a bad run where you seem to hit any flops and your opponent can only have one possible pair of cards to beat you and that's exactly what they have. When that happens it's best to just walk away from the computer and go do something else for a while.

I would say flat calling a raise would be slow playing the hand. Usually with AA you want to raise to get rid of the calling hands. By raising most of the hands that will call you will be smaller pairs or broadway cards and you have those dominated.
