I have a friend who never deposits he plays on 888 as dfb1979, he got a promo email from pkr offering him 5 for nothing he took it and got it with ease, he then has a nosey around the tourney area and stumbles upon the 15000 NON-DEPOSITERS FREEROLL i laughed i said wtf wtf thats not fking right here i am playing a 6dollar ticket freeroll as a depositer yet he can play that and 1 in 3 gets 15 dollars min he plays his game and wins a 30 dollar ticket he was buzzing then he realised you had to deposit to get access to it so i have just watched him deposit 10 wholesome dollars he had to forfeit a dollar as it was under 25 dollars that made him quite ill as he is very greedy, then his bonus is released yes, no its a pending bonus u moron his dreams of caviar and fluffy slippers shattered by redtape and borderline legally con-artist style promotions which are fundamentally wrong surely this could be the , 15000 nondepositers pending bonusfreeroll for your 1st deposit with terms underneath why are they allowed to false advertise like this and expect begginers to understand all the poker jargon, surely a firm as big as pkr should act more responsibly and not offer false promises, i however found this amusing as im sick like that.

For future readers, allow me to paraphrase op's story:
- I was jealous that I deposited and my friend didn't, and he got a better bonus that I did. - Neither me nor my friend took the time to read the tos. Of course rather than admit we didn't bother(or possibly were too illiterate to) read the tos, we blame the poker site of a practice that's common place on pretty much any poker site. - Me and my friend don't understand that poker rooms advertise bonuses like this, because it attracts traffic. In doing so, they also make a fair requirement that you must generate proper rake through points, because by not doing so the rooms would be broke in a week.
Basically I don't know why you'd post a story like this, it's normal and perfectly legal for poker sites to give bonuses like this, as it's HOW they get traffic. You're just crying because you'll likely lose all your money long before you meet the requirement. I mean, otherwise you'd just play it out and be up the bonus PLUS whatever you won while clearing it.
So in conclusion, don't come here, whine, and then bash people. It's not their fault you can't read.
Now excuse me, I have to go hide under my bridge again

Retribution is right, these special bonuses are offered from time to time to players to come and play there but the requirments are really hard to actually release the bonus...
The only weird thing to me is that he got a offer from a site on which he was not a member!?

sorry, you misunderstand the promotion.
The non-depositor freeroll winnings do NOT pend, you get it instantly.
The pending bonus is just the standard deposit bonus he gets, on TOP of the no-depositors freeroll win.
PKR are geniuses with coming up with this freeroll IMHO and it's definitely no con-artist style. Just that either you or your friend have comprehension issues. If you don't believe me, then email PKR support: You get your deposit (obviously) plus your winnings from the non-depositors freeroll (as tickets I think, tell your friend to check his tickets) PLUS you get the standard (pending) deposit bonus. ALL poker sites make your deposit bonus pending, based on a form of rakeback. The only 'instant' deposit bonuses you will find are crappy $5 or $10 ones that usually mean forfeiting larger $500 bonuses.

I just want to clarify, this isn't exactly right. THIS is what the PKR deal is:
PKR occasionally offer $15,000 freerolls and ONLY people who've never deposited can enter. However - the catch is, the prize they win is LOCKED in the form of a deposit token, so say they win $100 in the freeroll, they'll recieve a special $100 token. They can't actually use this, unless they deposit within a certain timeframe (2 weeks I think).
Then once they make the deposit, they claim their token and I believe it gets paid as tournament tickets (usuable in any SNG or MTT, although it may be paid as cash, I am not sure). They will ALSO get a first-deposit bonus, like with any pkr site, which clears as they pay rake, as per usual. FWIW PKR first deposits usually have a pretty good clearance rate, around 40-50% RB on 1st Dep is pretty standard.

yes, very odd very gmgm that the post wasn't all in capitals. Unsurprising, it indicates a clear lack of understanding of a poker site promotion and by mis-understanding he labels the promotion as a CON, even though it's actually a fantastic promotion and definitely not a con.
