What Are Those Star Things....  0
...around the avatar pics of players at PokerStars tables,....and how do you get them. Not that I want any,...seriously,...they look like like hickeys to me.... The more you have,...the promiscuous you are I guess...?! lol...

You know the things I'm talking about,...they are bronze, silver,...red,...some other colours too... and have a little star in each one... Kinda looks like Gangsta jewellery...

Do you get them by how much money you spend,...games you win,...levels you attain in certain types of games...???

Me dumb as a post,...please explain... Smile

i thought moast pokerplayers were catogorized in the smart group of people ,,but it seems you'r not that smart..demodawggy..

is this a real question or are you kidding with us???

the strars come wih your status on pokerstars,,

since you reachd chrome last week...there's also bronze ,silver gold platinum, supernova and supernova elite..

the more you play and the more fpp's you earn each month,,the higher status level one can aquire.

if im not wrong it's 100k fpp's for supernova

the more VPPs (vip player points) you earn the more stars you have : ) They indicate the VIP-level of the player Smile

ChromeStar: 100VPPs/month
SilverStar: 500VPPs/month
GoldStar: 2500VPPs/month
PlatinumStar 7500VPPs/month
Supernova 100,000VPPs/year
Supernova Elite 1,000,000VPPs/year

"...is this a real question or are you kidding with us???..."

Nope,....not kiddin',....real question! I figured they had something to do with status level,...but since I was a bronze,...then chrome,...and NOT seeing any around MY neck,....I was just wondering...

Why are none appearing on MY avatar pic...?

You have to turn them on in the options menu mate.

Yeah at Carbon Poker they have Bronze, Silver and Gold Stars. I think it has to do with how much rake you get which is determined on how much you play and at what level yopur playing at. At least that's why I have two of the Bronze stars since I'm small potatoes.

Ahhhh....."I see", said the blind man...

Thanks lukas...! Had no idea that option was there,....

I'm wondering if there is any advantage to displaying those..... otherwise, I'm not much one for wearing jewellery!

They MAY have some psychological affect on some, giving them the impression that you are good or something...

Any little advantage is good I guess,.....but then again, even farting under the table goes a long way to throwing the competition off...... lol...

I'll leave them turned on for a while and see if there is any noticeable difference in the amount of my winnings...

G'day mate

Wow. I must admit when I first read your post I though he must be kidding right,
I remember just last week you had asked about the chrome star freeroll tournament.
I then started reading threw the thread and realized you were serious.
I think people covered it for you nicely so I just wanted to say I am glad you found assistance.
Be cool and best of luck to you.

It took me a while to figure out what they were too. Then one day, I happened to muse over one of the stars and up popped the explanation as to what they were.

And with all of that rakeback comes around if i'm not wrong...Means that for every game you play in poker, you get a share of money that's in the pot. More stars (FPP, VPP points) you have, the biigger your share of the pot is. Or am i wrong? Smile

It does have an effect on me. But I'm not sure if is an advantageous one.

I seem to be more weary of players with gold status or higher. That means when I'm selecting tables, I make sure they have big stacks, and I have position on them.
I also check out how many tables they are playing (a lot of times they multi table heavily, and play a mechanical style, which may be exploitable).
If they play only a few tables, they may be far more dangerous...

Another effect is that it may scare away the fish altogether, which is probably not what you want.

I do wonder about this myself. Should one stay away from them, or seek them out, or simply ignore their status (after all, someone donking off their cash will also get high status, since it's based on rake, not ability, or winrate)?

I don't display mine! I don't like the idea of giving anything away about myself. whether it does or not.
I think the only time i would display it is if i got to supernova elite Big Smile and that's never going to happen lol

Thanks for the input guys! Some good things there to consider!

Already been in them since last week,....I've gotten into the money more than not. Over 1/2 the ones I've played anyhow,... Into the money yesterday 2 of the 3 I played,....and in the one yesterday afternoon, went very deep for a win of about $1.05,...which IS pretty good considering the $$$ starts at only .13c in the games in the day when all our European friends are still awake, playing, and not slumped over their keyboards in poker dreamland.... Big Smile

Later at night there are far fewer players,...and the money starts at about .30c.

I also discovered the weekly $5,000 game, which I played one of and got hammered out in about 2 or 3 hands... Smile

Those stars started as soon as Rihanna hit her single.

Shine bright like a diamond.
Shine bright like a diamond.
Beautiful like diamons in Pokerstars...

Is it an andvantage to be with those diamond stars on the table?
It depends whether you like Rihanna or not.
I personally am not a big fan.
So it's a no for me...

I'm talking gibberish I know but it's late and I'm tired, so who cares

I guess Rihanna got herself into a little bit of trouble with some old and religeous farmer in Ireland recently.... She wanted to use his fields in which to film her latest video,....so because he thought she was a nice young girl,...he said sure, go ahead.... I don't even think he asked for any money...

....not long into the shoot, I guess he got word that she was out there half naked dancing in a lewd manner,....and THAT was enough for him,....He ran her and the whole crew OFF his land halfway through taping.... lol...

Now I think that is just funny. Did the farmer not realize it was a pegan ritual to make his land more futile and hie old wood hard again. The old boy must be gay not to have sat back and enjoyed the show of the fine young lass dancing about.

best of luck
