Italy court sentences Berlusconi to 1 year jail in wiretap trial
(Reuters) - An Italian court on Thursday sentenced former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi to a one-year jail term for making public the taped contents of a confidential phone call in a case related to a 2005 banking scandal.

I don't think for one second that ol' Silvio will see the inside of a jail cell,...let alone any of the inmates bending him over the bed to plug him a good one,...if you know what I mean.....lol...

If he actually goes to jail i would be quite surprised.. Pretty common that sometimes after all they have done they can't get away of one charge.. but they have the best lawers money can offer and the law is filled with gaps. If he gets 6 months of home jail it would be alot. In my country one of the many corrupts who was responsible for sinking one of the biggest banks here (with all the people losing their money) was convicted to like 1 year spent at home without a license to live. Conclusion : it pays off to be corrupted if you don't have problems sleeping at night.
