Hi mobsters, hope u r all doing well I'm playing about 3 1/2 years online and find it silly to complain about bad beats and such.. i 've accepted the nature of the game, and i know that downswings are part of the game. Aces will crack often, miraculous rivers will come and give the pot to the 8-3 vs your AK and such.. Not a big deal really and i've NEVER believed that poker rooms favor some players.
Don't know if it's just my bad luck, but since FullTilt came back this November, my results there are so bad, it makes me wonder.. I'm also playing in Pokerstars, PartyPoker and some other OnGame room, and doing pretty well there. My poker course the last 2 1/2 years has showed me that i can have some steady profit, even if i'm playing small stakes.
This won't happen with FullTilt though.. i've experienced so many bad beats there the past months, that although i could say it's a continuing downswing, it's way past the "ridiculous, but i'll keep playing" point, and i feel i don't want to play there anymore...
I mean i put it into small tests, playing $0.50 or $1 SnGs, just to see how it will go, not really caring about profit (while playing my good game), but just to find out WHY i can't do in FullTilt what i've been doing successfully in other rooms.. Well, it keeps giving me sick beats.. Last SnG i played, i lost all these hands in a row: JJ vs A8 vs A8 (Ace on the flop) - AK vs KT - A8 vs A2 it's about 2% to lose all three in a row if i'm not mistaken. i know that 1 time in 50 i will experience something like this again, but when it happens more than often and i'm playing my good game, it really makes me wonder
I'd really like to hear mobsters what are your experiences there since FTP's second coming in November, and if your results in FullTilt are worse compared to other rooms or not. The fact is that i like FTP and its software, tourney structures and all those innovative things (Multi-Entries, Matrix, RushPoker etc) that made it one of the best poker rooms for so many years. Maybe it's just a ridiculous downswing for me, only in FTP tables...

Some times it happens. Since you have come up with it though the best thing you can do is take a small break from Full Tilt and try your luck again. You play in more rooms as you say which you are successful, so ditching one wont be a problem.

I think FT is fine, but then again I don't really buy into that whole "I do better on XX site, but lose on YY site". Imho, if you can win on one site, you can win on any. Sure bigger sites like Full tilt and poker stars may have more sharks, but there's also a LOT more fishies too.
The one gripe I do have with FT now, is the game volume. It's taking FOREVER to get any sngs going, which is frustrating as all hell. In the glory days, I used to be able to keep 6 supers going at any given time, now I'm lucky if I can get 2 to load in an hour
As for winnings, aside from the balance I had stuck on there from before shutdown, I've already pulled a couple hundred out. So as far as that goes, it's still very +ev to play there

thanx for the feedback
retribution, that's exactly the reason i keep playing on FT & testing myself there. Because i don't believe that you can be good in one room and bad in some other if you're playing on the same stakes. It's really weird when this happens and it's like i need to find an explanation why this happens. I think i'll take a break and return there some weeks later to see if this downswing continues

Well the simple fact is, there are MINOR things that can vary from room to room, so in a sense there are a very few small minor affects it can have such as:
1) Amount of rake the site charges. 2) Bonuses/rakeback 3) Smaller rooms seem to have more fish, so it's slightly easier to find softer games.
But overall, these will likely only have a very marginal effect on your total profit, not wether you can be a winning or losing player. Winning players will always win, no matter where they play, and losing players will always lose. The atmosphere will never change that simple fact.
Played my remaining money in FT when it was reborn and the site is very different than the old...maybe because of many new players coming or i dont know but i was really running bad that it drained my br......

Hey Ili_002,very nice that you posted this thread because I feel exactly the same.I also play on PS and Partypoker.I totally agree with you...slowly but confidently I can get some profit on PS or other rooms, but on FT - no.I remember my last play on SnG FT(first deposit ticket) I was on the bubble with KK and I lost vs 10 4...I didn't get any money.Maybe it's just our opinion but full tilt is really strange poker room

Yes i saw that too,but most clearly you can see that on small pocket pairs like 22 33 44 TT,if you hit trips on the flop, someone at the table will have flush.

It's acctualy very simple... Stop playing and only play in rooms where you're not having that many bad beats. I had the same periods and stopped for a few days and then later started again.
