i have not been playing poker for a bit, and am taking a break for a while. tell i lie i have been playing a few freerolls around the place but not playing any serious poker cause im not depositing for a while. recently i quit my job. been working in the charity sector for many years and have come to realize the pay just isnt enough any more as im getting old now and need to focus on my own future, been much fun and am quite proud of what i achieved (raised over half a million pound for UK charites) but now im going back to college at the age of 29, feels really weird. but i am going to get myself back into a proper career. but cant really afford to be gambling while im back to being a "student" i will be back at some point but not gonna be such a degenerate gambler for a while.
any ways wish me luck with my studies and gl to all mobsters its been fun.

I wish you the best of luck. I went back to school after a few years of working too, and although it wasn't easy at first it ended up being the best thing I ever did. Nobody can ever take away that diploma from you, and its value stays with you for life. Drop in once in a while and let us know how it is going.

That's great to hear and I wish you the best. By the way! What are your interests and does the U.K help assist your schooling costs or anything like that. It's never to late to go to school. It's seem's I've done it off and on my entire life and actually just finished up with my CQIA two years ago. You will do fine, but always ask the question when your in need. Again, Good Luck!

Good lucky with your studies, what will they be?
I'm just reaching the tail-end of a 3 year degree myself, as a "mature age" student. My missus is completing her 3rd year this year as well, however she will have another 3 to go (she's 29 also) if she wishes to complete all of her post-grad stuff.
Anyway, don't worry about getting into the study a bit 'later in life', it can be depressing if you let it get to you, but you always need to look at it the other way round; that it's never too late and you are actually (as a 29yr old) still relatively young.
Anyway, gl with it and with not playing poker haha
for the charity work was it one charity or a few diffident ones . i have been looking for work for ages now the kids are older but no luck i been thinking of volentry work

Wish you the best of luck takingdrugs. I think it is a very wise decision of you to go to study because nowadays every respected firm that recruits workers ask for a valuated degree (at least Bachelor, and Master is respected). It's never to late to take those decisions. I had in my class in uni a woman of 40+ who studied for a diploma...
A poker career is not really a 'job' because of the up and downswings. The game depends too much on luck and variance. For me poker is something like a hobby, which I like to do and is a challenge for me.
By the way, at first it would be smart to stop with poker for a while till you find your way in your studies. But in the meanwhile you get spare time as well, which I use (sometimes) to play poker. So maybe you can still play... My advice for you is that it's much more important to stay away from the drugs, takingdrugs.

Nice of you to do so much charity work.... Very commendable...!!!
I tried the 'No More Poker' thing once.... I found myself drawn back like a zombie,....or maybe more like the people on Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind strangely compelled to go to the mountain....
