Hi all,
As some of you may be aware I am back into poker after a long break and looking to build a bankroll from scratch. My aim is to make $1k by year end, then split it and have 50% as a BR and 50% towards a nice Christmas for my new little one (as a MTT player, that could be a single win or several small ones, either way I am in for the grind and would expect to have built it to only $200 after 4 months, to enable me to play bigger/more games).
I am playing solely on sites I have joined through BankrollMob as I guess they get a CPA or rakeback for anything I play and it seems only fair seeing as I am getting free money from them to play.
I have been looking at the mobpoints now and that seems a pretty good deal, infact awesome.
What is the best way of maximising points? I see people using lots of points on the safe, surely it is better to keep points and save for 5000 taht risk them in the safe/draws? I have only gained 170 points for forum posts, but have only made good quality posts, no spam. Is there something I should be aiming for in order to get the max 50 points per day. Any other hints or tricks?

It's funny two people with a whole other mind. The one believe there is no luck at all while the other thinks luck is part of everything. I think it's somewhere in the middle and more tended to believe in the "luck is everywhere and everything" statement. There is no such thing as destiny for me. Things happen. Sometimes without a reason. And factors like luck and probability play here a main role. There are times where you can intervene and change your luck/probability but you can never have a total control on it.
I hope you succeed with your goal you set yourself. Though it is difficult to estimate how much income u can get out of poker (-> luck).
BTW an affiliate is about bringing other people to join bankrollmob and you receive mobpoints for it if they get accepted for a bonus. Each mobster has his own unique link so that those people are assigned to you as the affiliate.

Yes I guess that is the beauty of poker, everyone sees things differently.
It is my belief that nearly every time someone talks about luck, they are actually talking about variance. And as variance is based on odds and percentages, that removes the luck element.
I will concede that luck COULD be about WHEN VARIANCE OCCURS but no-one ever moans about that when they get sucked out on.
Might make a thread about it tonight when I get home from work and nipper is put to bed

Regarding mob points, playing the safe when it is <$50 is -EV, playing it @ $50 is EV neutral and playing it when it is > $50 is +EV. So if you ever see the safe go up over $50, spend all you can trying to crack it, as there is a positive expectation in doing so. That said, it rarely happens these days, used to happen relatively often, but almost never now, because of all the free safe shots from the calendar.
Mob Draw is obviously EV neutral, so it doesn't really matter if you play it or not.

Jess, you see things quite as they are. Talking about numbers, i guess if we take randomly 10.000 online players we get -EV... I play for some years now and i keep in touch wih a lot of players, there is no one who beat variance at a long term...

i think if u want to maximize your return through mobpoints, the best path you can take is: accumulate mobpoints (by posting, winning on the calendar & through affiliates)>>>>save them until cashout + take free shot daily on the mobsafe + take free chances to win something on calendar. thats my personal opinion.

Good day The best and the fastest way to earn the mob points is surely the affiliation ... there are some other ways to earn the mob points too .. the best in them is posting in the forum !! which indeed is very good way with a lot of interactions and abundance of knowledge from the fellow mobsters .. lastly you have the mob safe, calender and the mob draw .. which are hard to crack !! you need to lucky for them !! I agree... this is how I cashout my $50. Writing posts (but quality posts - not posts only for points!), earning mobpoints from calendar and try to hit the safe

Yeah... and I tell you guys, that on my lasts AA preflop, I win only about ~60% hands And with AK, I win only 20-30%...

How many hands are you looking at for that 60%? Considering AA to win are approx 80%, and v three hands 65%ish, thats not far off.
AK is at its best 65% and that is V 72o. At its worst v AA only 7% and against low pockets 44%, suited connectors 60% so again,not far off expectations.
Combined that yuo are likely to win a small pot or lose a big one, I am not sure what you are expecting.
