Hopefully, he lives long and prospers the communities in which he represents. This is a meaningful and promising commitment within the Catholic religion. Maybe I'm not Catholic, but I'm not disrespectful to one's belief unless it's based on pure ignorance and disrespect to others.

Actually my question was a valid one, even if it was put in a 'jokey' way

Apoligies if I offended anyone though

the younger the pope wolud be ,,the less live-experience he would have ...so,less wisdom for mayor issues..and easier to be bribed..

the older he is ..the quicker they get rid of him, in case he does not do his job very well..you can't fire a pope ..see Smile

and for an older cardinal it's more like an ouvre-prize for his carreer within the church/vatican
like a ticket to heaven as appreciation for his good work during his life...

------------
let's hope he was never part of the fidela regime/governement who dropped people out of airplanes in the 80's and were a disaster to the argentinian people, like the father of our future queen here in holland...mr.zorigueta ,who was minister of aggriculture at the time but declared that he never knew or was part of these actions against their own people.

a bit of history won't hurt..i think we al benefit if we get to freshen up our history now and then..
so we won't make the same mistakes as easely as we did in the past..(pokerbankrollbusting for example)

Wow, you really care about new pope? srsly now why should you care about a new pope? ooh now i saw you're 52... sorry for ask, don't take me serriously, all i care is me, my family and friends... never understand why someone care about a person who don't really know if he exist... a good example is: a football player or a team, all children say they care about that football player but that football player really don't know if that person exist and really don't care...

"...given back..."...?

Is that and admission that the Malvenas actually DO belong to Argentina...? lol...

After all,...those Brits had a bad reputation for going around the world taking land and stuff from the native inhabitants.... Just ask my Irish ancestors,....and the local Indian tribes that live around me... Big Smile

Well,....maybe the Spanish took the Islands from the natives,....THEN the British took them from the Spanish....

...none-the-less,....the natives lost their land to a bunch of whities...

...it all works like the critters in the forest.... lol...

Actually, there were no NATIVES in the Malvenas/falklands before europeans arrived. The islands were uninhabited before the French British and Spanish built various settlements on there. Argentina doesn't represent the natives of south america anyway, those at the top level are all spanish descendants and the Argentine government didn't exist when the Brits first went to the Falklands. It doesn't matter anyway cos the people who live there now want to be British (all but 3 people) including those of Argentinean decent. The Argies don't care about them, they say that the residents of the Falklands don't exist, even though they've lived there happily for hundreds of years (happy apart from that time they were invaded).

Anyway returning to topic, I don't know how the new pope feels about this issue but it's definitely worrying that someone elected by such a small, select group of conservative, religious, old men has such massive political power all over the world. As I tried to post last night, the election of a pope might be more important politically than the election of the president of the US. He has more than a billion followers around the world in Catholics alone and like it or not he can heavily influence the development of the human race.

New Pope hates the British

Pope Francis I today faced his first controversy as leader of the Roman Catholic Church after it emerged he described Britain as 'usurpers' for ruling the Falkland Islands.

Buenos Aires-born Jorge Mario Bergoglio has previously urged the Argentinian people 'not to forget those who had fallen during the war' as they had 'shed their blood on Argentine soil'.

In April last year, at a memorial mass in Buenos Aires 30 years on from the Falklands conflict, he said: 'We come to pray for all who have fallen, sons of the homeland who went out to defend their mother, the homeland, and to reclaim what is theirs, that is of the homeland, and it was usurped.'
