A professional poker player who hit the jackpot on the German version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? said that he picked up vital clues for his answers from the expression and attitude of the quiz show host. Sebastian Langrock said that his poker training was especially useful on the €64,000 question, when the German version of Chris Tarrant did not press him to play a joker on a guessed answer. “It was a real advantage that I could read Guenther Jauch’s face,” said Mr Langrock, 36, who became the eighth millionaire in the German show’s 13 years.

G'day mate
Well that is sweet that his poker skills helped him win the grand prize. It is always sweet to hear that poker skills can be used for other things besides the poker tables. Most people would not believe that the skills to read other peoples tell really exist let alone can be used to a persons personal advantage.

The hosts dont get the answers from what im aware off. But that doesnt mean they may not know the answer. Its a simple question-answer game, and some times we know things that we have picked up randomly

Yup. I agree with Mober.....the hosts probably arent given the answers, but with a little intelligence the host will know a proportion of the answers, so I dont think any tells help unless you can be certain that the host is certain he or she knows the answer too!

Hey kind of funny I haven't even thought about that possibility, lol. I thought to myself that the show host received his answer via earphones from the control room. But now you pointed that out, I think you're right - the host probably knew the answer himself. It can certainly be, because most of the times the show host are relatively intellectual themselves.
Good night
P.S. it's nice to see poker players winning that kind of quiz games because it gives poker a good reputation.
